This guy sacrificed for over 45 years as a basketball coach in Morgantown. One of the best, Coach Tom Yester. Congratulations on State retired coach of the year.
It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Garrett College and to the athletes and students that I work with every day, as I am moving on to West Virginia Wesleyan as an assistant coach. I will forever be grateful for Garrett College allowing me to work with their students.
Tomorrow, I open my 42nd season of coaching and my first year at West Virginia Wesleyan College. It’s kind of ironic that I return to my roots and play at Fairmont State. We will play Edinboro tomorrow night and Bloomsburg the next night. I couldn’t be any happier! Go bobcats!
All these men’s basketball players in the portal looking for something better. Most of them need to appreciate what they have. Loyalty goes a long way!
The season came to an end today. I couldn’t be more proud of the effort that these young men put in this year. They stayed together, even when things were tough, and competed until the very last minute of the last game as hard as they could. They showed great character!
I want to announce that I will be leaving Garrett College at the end of the month to start a nonprofit called LifehoopsFLA. I appreciate all the people at Garrett College especially my former players!

I have coached a lot of years sometimes two seasons in one year. We are at West Virginia Wesleyan, or trying to build something bigger than ourselves. we are having a rough year, but our guys are giving it all. That’s why I do it!

It was a memorable night is West Virginia Wesleyan starts the season at 1-0. People are going to love watching this team. I know I am enjoying coaching it.
This old guy got back in the saddle tonight. Was able to coach the Garrett Lakers as they defeated Hagerstown. A division, one program and one of the better teams on our schedule. Blessed, to say the least!
Sometimes as a coach you wonder what effect you have on your players. Just received a phone call from a former player of mine that is playing at the Division I level, that thanked me for everything that I did for him.

Quietly and seemingly unnoticed, this guy is having a good season. 15 points per game and five rebounds per game in the last four games. Keep grinding, Curtis!
@JohnDreker
@PiratesFaithful
I hate to say this, but this would not have happened if the Pirates would be playing their best players at the major league level. Should have been brought up along time ago
When I was a teacher, 35+ years, I always did lunch duty except for days of the NCAA tournament and or conference tournaments. Other teachers were glad to cover for me because I covered for them the rest of the year.😳😂

All he had to say, was that we will get back into practice tomorrow and work hard and every day we plan to get better so then at the end of the season we can turn these losses into wins.
I spent many years grinding at Morgantown High school, and many guys worked really hard, and could not achieve this. This young man has overcome a lot, and is certainly one of a kind. Congratulations!
Catamounts fall in the Region XX Championship. PSC finishes 2018-2019 at 28-2 and the schools first

ranking. Great run by Coach White’s crew.

I’m excited about the future as I move on to a great D2 program that has a fantastic school and campus. I want to thank all of the coaches and administration at Garrett for the support that I received to help our program have great success.

Bob Knights Keys in Teaching Offense:
1) Shot Selection; “Teach in everything you do!”
2) Handling the Ball; “Eliminate those things that cause you to lose.”
3) Movement w/o Ball; “Most important in getting good shots.”
4) Screening; “Most difficult thing for Defense to handle.”

could not be any more proud of a former player than I am of this guy. D’Monte, “Buckets”Brown helped lead his Langston University Lions into the NAIA championship. They lost a close one, but certainly earned everyone’s respect.

Not being a jerk here, but they did play pretty hard for him the last several weeks of the season when there was nothing to play for. Didn’t they?
@BballCoachMac
I would tell the parent, that every coach wants to win. And if his son was to help him win, then he would play more. His development time is in practice. He needs to grow and get better at his game between now and next year if he wants to break into the lineup.
@cooljerdoc
@JMackeyPG
They keep doing the same thing that they’ve done for years. It looks they don’t know what they’re doing. Better players need to play against better players in order to develop.
I wish there was a rule in place that would say that they had to all go into the portal on the same day, so we would not have to live through this nonsense every day.

is one of the best professional announcers in the game. I don’t know if I’m an expert, but probably as much so as the people that complain about him.
Congratulations to Deiker Padrino of West Virginia Wesleyan. All conference honorable mention.

three point percentage (74 threes), in the conference and 15th nationally. 13 shots per game, 16.7 ppg. One of the best I have ever coached.

Triolo is probably wondering what the heck (and his teammates). This is the kind of stuff that ruins the culture ur building in that dugout. I don’t know much about baseball, but Ido know that u should playyour best players. If notit will cause the team, to lose focus on winning.
