With a report out today suggesting Dublin one of the most congested cities in the world, re-posting an @IrishTimesOpEd piece @mu_lynch & I wrote suggesting a move away from fuel duties towards congestion charging.
Myself and @mu_lynch have a piece in the @IrishTimes today arguing that the way we tax driving needs urgent reform. Shifting away from fuel duty towards congestion charges would better align taxes with social costs. Acting now means this can be done leaving many better-off.
