a detail i never see anyone bring up is the masks the seekers have. it's based on aviator oxygen masks, which ties into their jet theme, and also pulls them into the "gasmask mook" look, which is perfect since the seekers act as the decepticons' stormtrooper grunts

theres a lot of precedent for this interpretation given much of lonesome roads (and mostly ulysses dialogue itself) is about the concepts of symbolism/meaning. his tapes and backstory seem to convey that he used to be much more grounded and true to life with his personal meanings

there's nothing bold, creative, or imaginative about a generic AI uprising conquering the galaxy. it's insultingly antithetical to everything halo 4 and the forerunner saga have done.
Halo 5 was grand, bold, and willing to push the universe in new directions.
It's narrative wasn't without missteps but it was not content to simply play it safe or settle into a status quo.
