Our work presents a major advancement with a simplified, metal-free, one-pot synthetic methodology. This approach allows for the creation of 35 different conjugated nanographene-like heterocycles. The in-situ crystallization conditions eliminates the need for any separation.
More details about the work. In 1906, the first metal-free synthesis of symmetric conjugated heterocycles was reported. This pioneering work faced challenges due to tedious separation and purification processes, making bulk production impractical.
