"It's called Lunar New Year" "No it's called Chinese New Year" How about we just call it New Year. I'm ready for the west to fall already. We can ditch the Gregorian calendar.

to my knowledge it's the first time americans and chinese netizens have interacted directly with each other, on the same platform. i have my doubts that it will last, but it's honestly a kind of historic moment
Xiaohongshu is interesting because it is, afaik, the only Chinese app available in the US where you can freely browse Chinese content. Tiktok and Douyin are completely separate apps, you cannot download the latter without a CN number, which you cannot get without a visa.
