@neeratanden @neeratanden I grew up on food stamps too. It felt humiliating at the time. But the 6 of us graduated from college, some of us from grad school. 2 of us are combat soldiers. We’ve more than repayed the support TANF gave us as children. It was a wise investment.

#Church folks- this is critically important feedback. What will YOU do to educate yourselves and change this in your parishes, dioceses, congregations, Bible studies? How would Jesus respond?.
It’s not the abuse that drives victims out of churches. It’s the way everyone reacts when they come forward. Almost every #ChurchToo survivor I’ve talked to says the community response was even more traumatic for them than the abuse itself. #ACNAtoo.
