I’m in Hartington for the first court hearing in the case against Jason Jones, the suspect in an Aug. 4 quadruple homicide in Laurel. The 42-year-old Jones is scheduled to appear via video from the Nebraska Department of Corrections Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.

A winter storm warning will be in effect for Norfolk and most of Northeast Nebraska from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. Up to 12 inches of snow is possible in Norfolk.
Significant snowfall will produce difficult travel conditions for much of northeast Nebraska tomorrow. Peak snowfall rates of 1" per hour may lead to whiteout conditions.
Freezing rain and sleet will help limit snow south of I-80 but may produce treacherous travel conditions.
