No matter how many different scripts of “human” “civilian” “children” we mobilize, Israel/US/Europe will not see Palestinians as civilians, as humans, as children. These categories are colonized and deployed for colonial genocide of Palestinians.

This is huge!! We have been politically/academically working against the Sunni family/state denial of transgender funerals, burials and mourning rituals in Turkey for longer than a decade now and this is a remarkable step! Long live the solidarity of the oppressed! ✊🏽🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
Covering Turkey for years, I admit that this is one of the more interesting headlines I have seen in quite some time, not to mention its historical value in highlighting how struggles of oppressed groups can merge together in moments of solidarity.

for providing context to the Turkish presidential elections by highlighting anthropological work on queer/trans issues. An anti-LGBTI+ stance once again showed itself in Erdogan's speech yesterday. Violence and exclusion will only intensify for LGBTI+s this term.
