@DaveShapi Context is a major bottleneck. Top x programmer title becomes irrelevant beyond o3 for most use cases, if the context constraint is still there. Beyond a certain code size/length, relying on LMs for code is just not viable anymore

There are way too many "AI is amazing", "x is better than y" videos on AI and almost no *how to* tutorials. For AI adoption to become widespread, we need AI developers. Given how easy it is to click into desires to get eyeballs, the choice makes sense, but it's also bad

@naval @McDonaghMatthew Essentially leave them to problem solve. Teach them how to solve problems, not by giving out solutions. Gather resources, synthesise information, build on the information, execute, evaluate, iterate by applying feedback.

As Nvidia fell, Apple's stock price saw a 3% increase. I was just thinking, who benefits more from the Deepseek development? Apple. MacOS has Apple Intelligence. It runs on device. But it was subpar. With o1 level intelligence possible on device, things are looking interesting

BREAKING: Nvidia is down 15% representing a wipeout of $450 billion! The NASDAQ is on track to lose $2 TRILLION All thanks for DeepSeek AI from China. DeepSeek is the biggest paradigm shift and single most disruptive product in a long time. It also exposes how much money is being funneled into what increasingly feels like a massive tech scam. They showed you can do AI MUCH cheaper. A few million compared to so many billions. And itโ€™s all open source (which is a massive win for humanity!)

@sama Revolution = AI transformation Children = several products, chatgpt, operator, canvas, dall-e etc., betting on multiple possible futures Victories = children that successfully expand adoption significantly get to define some of the direction and the next steps

@jonatanpallesen @naval E.g. find and book the cheapest flight on x time from A to B. But it'll be super tempting for them to require revenue share from businesses they're giving business to, which will be sufficient for me to find an alternative that doesn't have an incentive to lie to me

We don't often realise beauty could bear such tragic past. And resilience could be this painful. But, we also didn't know that the two can come together into that which is beautifully resilient. Vietnam teaches that lesson.

how attention can be regulated so easily, and how tapping into influential members can drive that attention to the topics of choice. In a world where we are all time-constrained, attention is a superpower, especially for organising groups, various communities, and nations. 9/

@BCalusinski This is typical game theory. Create prisoner's dilemma. Make the group make the suboptimal choice (not try to escape) by cooperating to get to live. That was bad anyways, but you create a worst option for them to try to avoid, i.e. if you move, you're gone.
