@RevDrBarber As we celebrate the courageous life of Nelson Johnson, I think of your words: "The story of Nelson and Joyce Johnson is as important as the stories of Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass, Mother Jones and Martin Luther King, Jr. in America’s struggle for freedom." Nelson and Joyce's example of principled resistance and truth seeking is more important now than ever. @wilsonhartgrove

Getting to know Nelson Johnson and writing a book about his life (MORNINGSIDE: The 1979 Greensboro Massacre and the Struggle for an American City's Soul), was one of the greatest privileges of my life. His courageous, moral vision of a country where people "walk toward each other" to make a more just and fair world for everyone is needed more than ever. His legacy is vast, far bigger than most realize. One important piece of that legacy is the Beloved Community Center in Greensboro, NC. Please consider supporting a space where every voice is heard and where people are empowered to imagine the powerful possibility of economic equality in a true democracy. @WilliamBarberJD

So engaging to talk with two extremely knowledgeable and open hosts in Pat & Greg. Thank you both for digging in with me on this history.

I remember when we lived in Mexico, hearing pundits in the US refer to Mexico as "failed state." Nothing in Mexico ever came close to what's happening in the US right now. No gangster held the keys to power there, as Musk now does here. Is it time to start talking about the US as a failed state? #Mexico @ioangrillo
