I was talking Minis's this afternoon, my late father-in-law Peter was a senior BMC production engineer and hand built the first Mini at Cowley, This fabulous car's owner also owns a very early '59.

‘Your potentiometers are not working, 800 quid a side plus fitting and VAT’ , RS components £27 + VAT , how daft do some companies think their punters are ?
So yesterday my latest project broke cover, still lots to do but it didn’t leave the village green. Alpine Renault GTA turbo Pahnhenrich wide body convertible ( TUV approved ) one of 5 built. Konig custom interior. It is the 80’s on wheels !
I oft get in trouble for saying I'm not a fan of this particular

308GT4 but this one out in the rain today looked good in blue. What do you reckon ?
Got a project you are going to start, finish, progress or think about in 2023 ? Car, Bike, Lorry, Aeroplane, push-bike ? There can be more than 1, post your project pictures. I'll start with my 1958

roadster.
A personal favourite; Coune MGB Berlinette. In 1963 - one year before the prototype and two years before the official launch of the BGT, Jacques Coune built this "MGB Berlinette". This car was produced over three years, with a total production of no more than 56 cars.
As a plumber I am still going to work. This morning a 92 year old half blind customer called me in a panic, her shower valve off the wall , flooding her house . I went in, full ppe, she in another room and fixed it . Please realise some of us still need to be on the roads.
A huge welcome to our latest

Personally I think there is a place for EV engineered classic vehicles especially in towns and cities. Its certainly not going to take over from internal combustion in the near future. What are your thoughts ? Currently prices are high but would volume bring them within reach ?
With my plumbers hat on, please take a look at what Martin is predicting. Just some basic advice from me. Heat loss - check window, door seals, chimneys and draughts. Heating controls especially thermostatic radiator valves (which don’t work forever ) happy to chat

Worth noting in May when the then chancellor announced his help package, a typical bill in October was predicted to rise from £1,971/yr to £2,800. Now October is looking like £3,244/yr.
The increase in prediction alone eats up the £400 help package going to every home.
On a foul, wet M25 today I can honestly say that illuminated dashboards and front only DLRs are a substantial retrograde step in vehicle safety

Ok so what was you first car ? And what mods did you carry out ? Mine was a yellow, rusty Hillman Imp in yellow. Fitted with a saisho tape deck, wedge speakers and a Sparkomatic graphic equaliser booster which I still possess 👍 ( car pictured is not my 80 quid scrapper )
Just went to a job, oil boiler, customer asks why her oil boiler isn’t working. I trace the fault, burner motor. ‘Is it available’ she asked. Yup, it will be Tuesday. ‘I was quoted seven grand this morning for a new boiler because the parts were obsolete’ if in doubt 2nd opinion.
The real world is waking up to the fact that 'Green' and genuinely sustainable policy have never been so far apart.
Translation if required: 'Pears harvested in Argentina, potted in Thailand, sold in the United States but the problem is your old car...'
I was asked to take a 14 year old lad out today in the

Magnette by his mother as a birthday surprise, masked and everything. As we chatted its was refreshing to hear a 14 year old tell me how boring most modern cars are and that they have no soul. My work here is done.
