Today we're publishing the first story in a four-part series about Laura, a 44-year-old mum from London, who was left begging her husband to kill her after a facial went horribly wrong.
Read part one of her story here:
A 19-year-old boy has been stabbed and killed in Finsbury Park this morning. I’m at the scene on Stroud Green Road/Tollington Road where forensics are examining the scene.

I’m really excited to be joining the
@myldn

So, so, so proud of
@JohnWillisP2I
(who also happens to be my dad) for being named the regional fundraiser of the year for the West of Anglia in the Pride of Britain Awards today 💕
So completely and wholeheartedly deserved!
I’m out on a ride along with the Metropolitan Police tonight as officers show us the Met’s Violence against Women and Girls strategy on the streets of Stratford 1/x
Very excited to say I am now a senior journalist! Huge thanks must go to the incredible
@katychilv
for her belief and patience over the last two years, and to Essex for being a crazy county to cover until recently.
Here’s to a new chapter
@myldn
- new stories coming soon!
When you can write your last essay of the term on one of your favourite novels of last year, you know you're doing your English lit degree right 👌

For the first time, I've written about the eight months I spent in hospital with anorexia. The story was both one of the hardest things I've ever written, but also the one I'm now most proud of.
In three months, I've passed my 100wpm shorthand exam! Thank you to my incredible teachers
@izzycbaldwin
@alicerwalker
@Lucyedyer
and yes this feels like a bigger achievement than my degree
I've spent hours at crime scenes, taking photos and talking to residents after people, often very young, have been stabbed and killed in London.
I've written about my thoughts on London's increasing knife-crime rates and what we need to do here:
New: Newham Council is to take on the lease of Stratford Market Village following cabinet approval this morning.
Back in January some 60 traders were forced to leave their units after discovering the company running the site had gone into administration.
It's my last day
@essexlive
and I thought I'd share some of my favourite stories from the last two years. Thank you to the whole team (and those who've now moved on) for letting me get away with the frankly ridiculous ones 🧵
A fantastic day with
@newsassociates
, learning from the best in the busines! Key takeaway for me was perseverance, both in jobs and in finding stories - can't wait to start my NCTJ in a couple of weeks!
Coming up on Woman’s Hour: Taylor Swift performed her final UK show at Wembley last night until she returns in August 🎤

I decided to commute to work by Uber Boat for a day - and despite taking over two hours and costing me a ridiculous amount of money, I would definitely do it again

Finished The Go-between by LP Hartley last night and am still reeling; already desperate to re-read it (but my TBR pile is just too long for that right now!)
Eley Williams (
@GiantRatSumatra
) has written what I think is becoming one of my all time favourite pieces of literature. Attrib has SUCH beautiful and powerful command over language that I am completely blown away.
@siancole8
Hey Sian, I'm a reporter for MyLondon - would you be happy for us to republish your photos (with credit to you) in our live coverage of this incident? Best wishes, Anna

: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Carson McCullers - a beautiful portrait of the South, in simple prose that bends itself to each character's own use of language. Themes of communication, loneliness, language and society.
I’m in Hainault today after a major incident near the Tube station left five people injured.
Police cordons are in place on New North Road after a car drove into a house and people were stabbed at around 7am this morning.
Just finished this incredible collection, and am heartbroken that it has come to an end.

A great fun, fast-paced read from the author of Sabriel, where a group of magical booksellers are tasked with keeping the mortal world safe from Old World monsters. Action, intelligence, and a sprinkling of romance: what more could you want? 4⭐s out of 5
I'm writing about audio walking plays/theatre and want to hear your experiences! What was it like, how did it feel, where was it? My DMs are open, please rt!
