Down to Basingstoke from Lincs today for the funeral of an old family friend. 3hrs each way for the 350mile round trip. Went in the F11 520d. Started with a full tank of dirty diesel

A painful day. Just about to bin 4 tyres on the M5 which have looooads of tread.
But fronts are dated 2015 and rears 2010 so really want changing although there is not a hint of cracking/perishing as car stored in dark garage under cover

E28 now fully operational again. That said, the lack of play in the new propshaft has now shown up the level of wear and backlash in the diff….the joys of old cars eh?

Almost 2 years I’ve had this SL. Slooowly it’s growing on me. The panache at which it handles our crappy roads married to 5litre grunt when needed. I was going to move it on in 2019 but not so sure now.

E28 M5 propshaft collected today. As well as UJs being worn, centre splines were past their best. Parkinson’s Props of Boston have effectively built me a brand new prop at half the cost of a new one from BMW
