Today was the last field trip of the semester with my coastal grad class. So thankful for the many people (some not pictured) who took time to teach us about the NC coast, its vibrant communities, and their many challenges! Such a treasure to live, learn, and work among y’all!

@coasthelen has spent a lot of time measuring and modeling floods in Carolina Beach from sea-level rise. Floods can happen unexpectedly, and not just from high tides. There’s wind, rain, groundwater, and faulty backflow prevention devices. Tune in!!!
