@davidmcw Excessive taxation of rent (40%+) means refurbishment isn't viable. Section 23 type Tax reliefs allowed modern out-of-town rents to cross-subsidise renewal of in-town old buildings. Reliefs were ended in 2006 & dereliction set in from then on.

@aurumnonvulgi @RealDonKeith Nobody measures the gap for the same job - they always average across an organisation and take no account that fewer women want the responsibility that comes with the higher paid role. My wife just turned down a mgt role for exactly that reason.
