This is heartbreaking. I'm so glad this research is being done & women's stories are making it into the public eye. Every one of us in maternity care needs to take pause & reflect on how we can actively prevent this trauma!

Disappointing to see hospitals promoting International Day of the Midwife with photos of smiling midwives holding babies. #Midwife means "with woman." There are no babies & no midwives without the women. #Midwifery is about holding the space for women, not holding babies! #IDM

Attended @SpinningBabies workshop earlier this month, learnt so much about female anatomy that our #midwifery degrees left out. Understanding how to support pelvic & cervical ligaments to be toned but not tense in labour is going to make me such a better #midwife!
