My 8th annual review! I spent a lot of time in December thinking about my life, 2024, 2025, and beyond. The result is this 3,000-word reflection. 2024 was the toughest, most character building year. Thank you. Now onto 2025!

I have been coding more these past few days and it felt so painful without autocompletions, especially editing multiple different lines manually for simple stuff, so I caved in and subscribed to @cursor_ai! It saves me a lot of time but I really just want to skip the pain.

It was getting tedious to debug our AI assistant, so I used Windsurf to quickly whip up a dashboard to display our logs. I still have to pull the actual logs from our database and the dashboard probably needs some tweaks but this was so quick!

I used Perplexity to fact-check a list of tech conferences generated by another AI. It's pretty amazing to read through R1's thorough reasoning. Also, Perplexity went through 60+ websites for 7 conferences in just a few seconds.

Being constantly reminded that my newsletter isn't growing as much as I would was distracting me from thinking and writing. So I made a custom Chrome extension to hide the stats in the dashboard, with the help of ChatGPT and Windsurf. \o/
