You gotta love Milano’s. Everyone’s on a “hi honey” basis with the cashiers. Killer eggplant parm. Gotta try the chicken nap next time. #eastie

Northern New England (90.3% non-Hispanic white) as a region is whiter than any U.S. state outside of it. Meanwhile, Southern New England (66.3%) is less white than Arkansas (68.5%).

It’s really interesting that “blue-collar low-college whites” can be further split into low-propensity and high-propensity voters. Would love a deeper dive into what factors predict showing up.

Just like that, Jackson County drops and breaks in the D's favor by a 55-45 margin. Updated total is as follows: Mike Zimmer (D)- 52.3% Katie Whittington (R)- 47.7% Scott County is the only hope for the Republicans to retain this Trump+21 seat.

@ArmandDoma Felt such a rich irony in this bookstore yesterday - it’s in a lily-white Western MA town where every bulletin board loudly advertises refugee services, but the militant leftism is so intact precisely because there aren’t enough socially conservative immigrants to dilute it!

First time in Northampton. Walk into a bookstore off the street. The employee, *instantly*: “would you mind putting on a mask? They’re right in the basket there.” HOW ARE PLACES LIKE THIS REAL??? Twitter is real, if you live in the Northern Pioneer Valley…

#OTD in Weather History: January 26-27, 2015. The first storm of the 2015 "Winter Blitz" struck the region with 1 to 3 feet of snow. There would be much more to come after this!

This bookstore is hosting a “QTBIPOC open mic” tonight where only people of color allowed to take the mic. Here are some of the selections inside Peering into an abrasive alien culture in your own backyard is just a deeply unsettling experience

@jvuppaluri To my knowledge, I hadn’t met a single person who attended a religious summer camp until I traveled to the South!

It’s often hard to convey to people just how small a role religion plays in public life here compared to most of the U.S. - I just found this to be a handy little example.
