Made a huge tutorial on how to make a water shader in Unity 💦
This took a while to make and I put in almost everything I know about stylized water shaders.

I'm working on caustics volumes that properly follow the direction of the light and look nice. Getting the camera to be able to enter the volume though... different problem 🙃

For the past few months I've been iterating on a caustics effect for my water shader. Includes a dispersion effect so the light splits into R/G/B and a shadow mask so the caustics don't show up in darker areas. I'm quite pleased :) ☀️

After months of hard and passionate work, my water shader is now finally availabe. It would mean a lot to me if you'd check it out. You can read all about it here. I hope people will like it!☀️🌊

I recently made a website with several Unity tutorials. Topics range from ocean waves to toon shading. Be sure to check it out!

I finally released the 1.1.0 update for my water shader. Some new features: foam shadows, buoyancy, new caustics and improved lighting functions! 🌊

Finally got shadows to work nicely with my transparent water surface! Heavily requested by users and I'll be adding this in the next update 🥳

Since the start of the new year I've been building up my new website with tutorials/breakdowns of effects and shaders. Very happy with how it's starting to look and I hope it's useful to some. 🦉

In Unity 2019.1 alpha, there is a new EditorTools API.
I should probably find a good use for this, but for now it
works as a de-stressing tool that shows me kittens :)

New tutorial on edge detection shaders with
@unity3d
shadergraph! We customize the Lightweight Rendering Pipeline to generate a DepthNormals Texture that we then use to detect edges.

A while back I was working on this cool time of day tool with a nice 'timeline' editor. Creating TOD cycles which blend between states. Might revisit in future😁

Wanted to re-create a caustics effect I saw earlier today. The effect gets 'projected' by the main light. Then I added some chromatic aberration 🌈, caustics don't show in shadowed areas and you can set the height/range where they show up! ☀️🌊

I converted this outline shader effect from
@bgolus
to an URP renderer feature. Would any of you be interested in this? Zelda model was made by theStoff over on sketchfab

This weekend I experimented with a radial selection menu for the
@unity
editor. Hooked it up to my debug views.
Much faster than selecting from a dropdown list ⚡️
Realtime outlines test ⚡️
I started this recreation of one of
@mellifics
's artworks a few months ago but haven't had the time to work on it since. The goal was to get really clean/consistent linework with minimal manual authoring.

Added subsurface scattering to
@Cyanilux
's vegetation shader to make it look like the sun is shining through the translucent leaves ☀️🍃

Honestly I'm getting quite burned out on this shader, the update is so close to being finished and I feel like I have to push through ☹️ I'll be focusing on some other cool stuff that brings me more joy after this. Thank you for all the kind words about my work, it helps a lot 🙏
Back in July I worked on some buoyancy effects. It's basic for sure, but so fun to play around with and see objects interact with the water! The system could easily be used for larger objects like boats ⛵️

Testing out my hand-drawn rendering style! Now I can control outline thickness and color on a per-pixel basis which gives me great artistic control. 🌿

I wanted to be able to control the wave height for my ocean shader and the best thing I found was using vertex colors to paint the waves on there! Very fun to play with 😅🌊
