@allengraetz @angrypsulib Yeah that's if you have Walmart+ which I don't want to pay more money for. Would rather have a grocery store in Oakland than have to pay 13 dollars a month for "free" delivery

@allengraetz @angrypsulib That's also very expensive. I'd much rather walk 5 minutes to go shopping and not have to pay delivery fees.

@allengraetz @angrypsulib Most students don't have bikes, and putting groceries on bikes is annoying. Also, bike infrastructure is lacking and not everyone is comfortable biking. All of the ones within walking distance are either convenience stores or very expensive in the case of Forbes st matket

@sanosreptla @north0fnorth It depends on the land use context. Sprawl repair projects normally fill in surface parking and underutilized land adjacent to office parks and commercial centers. Why would someone who lives next to a regional activity/job center drive as much as someone living in tract housing?

@Dan_Shaffer_17 If community engagement means blocking a grocery store in a food desert with a high percentage of people who don't have cars, then community engagement sucks

@wantedbytheUN @lxeagle17 The opposite! California needs more administrative capacity. The project should not have been started (and budget/time frame estimates shouldn't have been given) without the necessary capacity for the project. I like trains and we should build them but we should do so competently

@wantedbytheUN @lxeagle17 The project is good! It should be built, but there are serious structural problems within the CAHSR authority and California in general that seriously impede their ability to get it done, and it shouldn't continue until those problems are rectified

@wantedbytheUN @lxeagle17 ...No? The Pittsburgh metro has a population of 2.5 million, while the Bakersfield and Fresno metros have a combined population of 1.9 million. 30 billion dollars and 18 years to serve only the 55th and 63rd largest MSAs in the country is absurd

@lxeagle17 High speed rail is good and we should build it but this project is a disaster and should not proceed until they figure out how to keep to budgets and schedules
