I’m glad the EU #AIAct mentions that the intentions of the deployer be to cause harm for it to be problematic. @CurriedAmanda and I offer an argument for why empathetic systems pose ethical problems.
I have been reading the EU #AIAct and this section on the ban of manipulation and nudging got me thinking about the paper @albacurry and I published last year on empathetic dialogue systems.
