I think about this scene a lot. It tends to get lost in the chaos of the Bomb arc, but it’s so intriguing in the way it defines the relationships that Aki and Angel have with death (and by extension, the strain between them because of it)

aki is why i actually like this trope since for him it’s done well. he was always doomed, he had his family and all sense of normalcy stolen from him, but now his suffering is over and he can finally rest while living on through the mc. his tragic character is written beautifully
