this is hard because personal experience is the root of advocacy, nobody cares about intellectual politics and debate. but also, how the fuck do you expect to start an open conversation when disagreement requires contesting someone’s *entire identity*
I love how every statement in a DSA debate always opens with “As someone who…”, “My grandfather once experienced…”, “I come from a background…”, etc. End the tyranny of lived experience!! Take ideological positions and defend them on their own merits

Again, folks, please read the constitution or literally any article on why DACA leg has stalled so long. Simple answer: It takes 60 votes. Dems haven’t had that since before DACA. This isn’t hard.

@davidmsong Part of me is certain John Fetterman would never make it through a primary anymore. But it’s pretty clear whoever the nominee is will be to the right of Kamala. It says a lot that the answer to 15yrs of R rule from late 70s-80s was Clinton.

@lxeagle17 Hell it nearly happened in 2016! Problem is the left doesn't have effective figures to rally around like the Tea Party did, and Dem primary voters don't have nearly the same penchant for ideological purity. Hard to see it translating into a real caucus.

To be clear, Biden has blood on his hands for enabling Netanyahu. Every POTUS does, even the ones who did the most to broker peace. But Biden was easily the LEAST permissive to Israel in the last 25 years. Principally, there is real difference between letting 1k vs 10k ppl die.

@RepVance But the REAl story is that you'd rather watch the legislature cut the PFD instead of advocate for anything that brings in more revenue to balance the budget. Pretty sad that unlike the rest of us, you still get your paycheck whether you do your job or not.
