You people will refuse to learn how other characters function and how to play against them, but apparently you simultaneously know enough about said characters to claim they have no agency in their games. Certainly this is a sensible way to think about the matchup
Low tier players: "They act like we have no agency"
You really shouldn't! That's why people don't like to play with you! You encourage extremely linear gameplay where the right move is always "do the unanswerable thing". People like battles of wits more than tests of discipline.

Back when wobbling was legal and I got grabbed I would try mashing A (and later L and R because triggers are louder) off rhythm either slightly too slow or slightly too fast to try and get my opponent to drop the wobble.

Tennis' rules as a game obligate using a racquet to play. There is nothing inherent about Melee as a game that obligates a traditional gamecube controller be used. You can plug fucking DK bongos or a DDR pad in and play. This comparison makes no sense
