@GBNEWS
Not the UK's fault that France decided to have open, land borders with its neighbours, and are now suffering the consequences of uncontrolled, mass immigration. As an island, the UK is in a geographically prime position to control its borders; why is the Government incompetent?
@implausibleblog
Tone deaf from Shapps. The veterans who were there are all those who never left the beaches because they gave their lives to fight an oppressive, fascist regime in Europe. Sunak should have shown solidarity with our allies and been there to commemorate everyone who fought.
@ukhomeoffice
@YvetteCooperMP
Does "Speeding up asylum processing" mean throwing the gates wide open, lowering the drawbridge, and quickly rubber stamp approving every individual crossing the Channel?
@GBNEWS
And yet they will constantly deny and gaslight those who criticise their two tier policing. I almost think they believe the lie they've told themselves. Increasingly, I see Orwellian doublethink in our society.
@GBNEWS
Two tier policing is apparent to see. The denial of its existence; the condescension; the disregard for normal people's concerns; a Government, both Tory and Labour, who refuse to listen to voters.
Just over a month in and you've already lost the Red Wall at the next GE.
@darrengrimes_
This all went down around 5pm. Surprised people have the time to riot and attack the police when they are so busy working and definitely not abusing the UK's welfare state.....
@SkyNews
I would never describe myself as a Corbynite, however it is disgraceful how he has been treated by the Labour party. I believe he is the best candidate for his constituency, and now as an independent he can fully represent his constituents without being limited by the whip.
@GBNEWS
How much has caving to the unions cost tax payers? What benefits has it brought? Any contractual increases in efficiencies? The gall of Labour to give themselves a pat on the back and pretend this is an achievement is staggering.
@EssexPR
If this really was a push to tackle public health the first thing would be to tackle obesity. More community sports centres, swimming pools, pitches, tackling food sugar content, encouraging eating less processed food. Make no mistake, this is an attack on civil liberties.
@g_gosden
You need to stop mislabeling everyone who disagrees with you as "far right" or "fascist". It is a disgusting misuse of language. Assuming all opposing opinions are extreme is in itself a radical position to take. People have different perspectives - grow up.
@BladeoftheS
France's energy is majority nuclear so isolated from fluctuating fossil fuel prices. The UK could go down this route to increase energy security and decarbonise electricity generation, but the Greens are set against it? Does not make sense.
@GoldingBF
Looks like effective border control to me. The illegals didn't stop because they know European border forces are a soft touch - time that changed.
@clairebubblepop
Disgusting and senseless - prosecute them to the full extent of the law. These people are not patriots. Their rioting does not achieve anything, but instead hinders any kind of real discussion on mismanaged immigration.
@RupertLowe10
Foreign criminals should be deported, however there are valid concerns over whether they would complete their sentence if they were sent abroad. Definitely at the end of their sentence they should be deported, and for less major crimes they should be deported straight away.
@RespectIsVital
Yes, it is too harsh, but this is what happens when you alienate the vast majority of people to your cause. No one cares to speak up for you, and instead will actually applaud the government for doing this.
@darrengrimes_
What produces more carbon emissions? Transporting coal mined half way around the world from Australia/Canada - or transporting it from Cumbria where the industry can also support local jobs and people, and contribute to our national security as well?
@earthize_org
The Green Party's Manifesto is flawed. Their opposition to nuclear power is insane. It is carbon-free, generates vast amounts of electricity, safe, seen as a positive for local communities. It is the only realistic way to achieve any kind of Net Zero and yet they oppose it?
@BrexitPirates
"About 83% of small boat arrivals in the 12 months to June 2024 were male."
BBC News - How many people cross the Channel in small boats?
@RichardJMurphy
Because most of the people illegally entering the country are not refugees, but illegal economic migrants. Refugees have many a safe country to settle in on their journey to the UK, why do they insist on coming to our country?

Brazil cuts off the internet to remote communities leading up to the elections in October. Clear interference stopping the spread of information and ideas, and making these communities otherwise reliant on state narrative.

The public are frustrated when we are told that tough decisions must be made, and then Labour announces billions to be spent overseas. and to pacify the Unions. Not to mention the hypocritical conduct of some MPs.
@darrengrimes_
You think any police hours will go into tracking these fine citizens down and punishing accordingly? Or do we think Two Tier Keir will fail the British public once again?
@Sargon_of_Akkad
Let's ask Austrian parents how they feel about how their children attending Taylor Swift concerts would have been the targets of Islamic terrorism. Let's see how safe those parents feel.
@EssexPR
The Woke Left uses labels to ostracise any opinions that do not align with their agenda. Even non-extreme beliefs will be labelled as extreme just to remove them from debate. At some point the Right must ignore their labels; you will always lose if you play their game.
@JustStop_Oil
Yes the sentences may be harsh, but this is what happens when you alienate the vast majority of people to your cause. No one cares to speak up for you, and instead will actually applaud the government for doing this. Change tactic if you want the majority onside.
@darrengrimes_
Funny how a platform that commits to protecting freedom of speech will alienate those who themselves claim to be liberal protectors of individual freedoms and social justice. Almost like everything these people claim to be is a lie and a gross perversion of reality.
@darrengrimes_
@Keir_Starmer
Starmer refuses to recall parliament because he knows that would mean answering tough questions from the opposition surrounding the policing of these protests/riots. Also, he would actually have to listen to the valid concerns people have over mismanaged immigration.
@GBNEWS
Speaking as a young person, I would refuse to fight in a conflict in foreign lands that the UK should not be involved in anyway. Very few people in my generation have any faith in Government. Naturally, if it was to protect the UK from direct attack, that is a different matter.
@GBNEWS
This is ludicrous, charge the two offenders, send them to prison for assault on the police officers. If you think the police officers did something wrong, then the police force should take ownership that its training failed, and then improve it. We cannot blame the front line.
@PolitlcsUK

@andjamwar
The NHS needs reform. Britain's approach to health needs a drastic rethink. Moving from reactive to proactive and preventative health care is the only option. Farage correctly recognises the French system is better, and seeks to apply the best bits and lessons learnt to our NHS.
@tomhfh
This is why women do not feel safe. They can be openly attacked and the perpetrator gets away with a slap on the wrist. We have a judicial system that will not protect women. It is weak, there must be harsh punishments. This man should have been locked up, now he walks free.
@paul__johnson
This is about reducing the UK's reliance on immigration to grow the economy. It isn't sustainable and the average person's quality of life is decreasing - taxi driver included. We must manage immigration so it is a positive, and doesn't put pressure on society.
@SamanthaTaghoy
Would be careful about playing the race card, just in case anyone decides to look too closely at the ethnic makeup and diversity of Starmer's new cabinet...
@LBC
@carolvorders
The sentences may be too harsh, but this is what happens when you alienate the vast majority of people to your cause. No one cares to speak up for you, and instead will actually applaud the government for being strict. Hard not to be called a zealot when you act like one.
@LauraPidcock
I understand you said that the Gala supports Palestine each year and so there is historical precedent, but please would you tell me how it started, and how there is a connection between Palestine and the Durham Miners, trade unions, and the strike?
@GBNEWS
Why are people outraged? It is hardly surprising that a show presented by and aimed at petrol heads is stopping because the cars they love are no longer being produced.
@drdavidbull
The actual policy itself is fine, however I think it needs phrasing/marketing better otherwise Reform will lose support from voters. Shift focus and emphasise Reform's commitment to reskill and train those currently on benefits, to help lift them out of the benefits trap. Etc...
@CDriscoll99
The government is using propaganda to control the narrative and silence the increasing number of people who have voted continuously for less immigration over the last two decades. Shame the Labour narrative doesn't include removing child predators from our society.

One would hope that something was done right by the Conservatives after 14 years in power! Nothing quite comes to mind right now.....

Disregarding whether this is a good idea or not (it isn't), the sheer cost of infrastructure required to support it would be insane - not practical on a 10 year time scale. Many issues, to name only a few; charging network, electricity supply, trucks from outside UK. Any more?
@toryboypierce
Not to be one to endorse Labour's plans, however I will say that it is one of the roles of the government, to prioritise where to spend money to have the best value and perceived outcome (in their view). Take for example the Tories scrapping HS2.
@supertanskiii
Arguably, Farage is the only one looking out for working class people, and actively pursuing policies to help. Certainly, even if they claim otherwise, Labour and Conservative policies will only make life for working people tougher and restrict their ability to build wealth.
@tomhfh
Reason for banning smoking is to improve public health and reduce the burden on the NHS. Smoking related illness costs the NHS an estimated £2.6bn a year. Removing the human element, how much will it cost to provide elder care to those who otherwise would have died from smoking?
@ArchRose90
"Change Begins"
I find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone voting for Labour actually thought there would be any change at all, let alone any positive change! Labour and the Tories are the same. It is the corruption and politics of the uniparty. Absolute joke.
@supertanskiii
It's truly shocking to me that you can sit there and type that out? The Left in the USA has demonised Trump for years, and riled the public up. It is unsurprising that extremely radicalised individuals have attempted to kill Trump. You aren't even calling for unity at this point
@implausibleblog
No one should have a problem with the outcome of the general election resulting in a large Labour majority despite only a relatively small amount of public support. The problem you should have is with First Past the Post that facilitated it. We should explore PR alternatives.
@PoliticsPollss
Nothing vote - EDL hasn't existed since it was disbanded in 2013. Yes an argument can be made about an unofficial, decentralised network of people inciting the riots, but I would then become worried about encroaching on people's freedom of speech and civil liberties.
@RupertLowe10
Farage dominated the debate, his final message was clear and addressed the critical issues that no other party seems able to even discuss, let alone solve.

Government and MSM can't define the term "far right" without admitting that it is just the views, thoughts and feelings of the reasonable masses. By keeping it vague, the "far right" becomes the perfect scapegoat and boogey man.

Labour will compromise public safety by releasing thousands of prisoners onto the streets. Reform are the only party that is tough on crime and willing to take the necessary actions to uphold the law. Labour looks to undermine our judiciary, whilst Reform empowers it.

Immigration should always be a positive to an economy and community. However, after decades of incompetent mismanagement it's clear that immigration at the levels the UK has seen is negative. It's insanity that anyone who tries to discuss this is silenced by chants of "far right"
@PolitlcsUK
Reform's pledges are ambitious and radical. Yes they commit to a lot of spending, however the policies they outline to save money in government to fund their expenditure are logical and rational. They cut tax, put money back into your pocket, and support small businesses.

The Green Party's Manifesto is a joke riddled with contradictions. Such as their opposition to nuclear power. It is carbon-free, generates vast amounts of electricity, safe, seen as a positive for local communities. It is the only realistic way to achieve any kind of Net Zero.

Tax avoidance is not illegal. Of course I agree that we must clamp down on tax evasion which cost the Government £40bn in 2022-2023 alone. However, do not hate individuals who legally find loopholes in the tax system to reduce their tax liabilities.
@theleftbible
The NHS must reform and shift to preventative health care, otherwise it's like fighting a house fire with a watering can. Keeping people healthy and addressing problems early before they become more serious are the best ways to save money and improve the overall health of the UK.
@Con_Tomlinson
This gentleman and others like him have become emboldened by Starmer's speeches. Any Prime Minister must unite the country at a time like this - Starmer has failed. Prosecute violence in our streets, apply the law evenly to everyone. Starmer continues to betray British people.
