It was an honour to join the CDN/NDG borough council to inaugurate Elie Wiesel Park in Snowdon today.
Ce fut un honneur de me joindre au conseil d’arrondissement CDN/NDG pour inaugurer aujourd’hui le parc Elie Wiesel à Snowdon.
We stand united with the U.S. on confronting Russia’s agression against democratic societies. Any Canadian aiding Russia to spread disinformation, criminal and covert activities and corruption to undermine our sovereignty will face the full force of Canadian law.
The testimony of
@NatiPress
and other students was absolutely crucial. Thanks to you Nati and the
@CUJStudents
and
@HillelIntl
& everyone else who brought the concerns of Jewish students to our Justice Committee.
I just had to drop a course as the prof teaching it submitted a brief to the Justice Committee trying to discredit my testimony, claiming I have 'limited knowledge of Jewish history'—despite the fact that I have won two scholarships and an award for my Jewish Studies grades.
Well done to
@TheHubCanada
for its following up with universities on the letter that
@DeborahLyonsSE
and I sent on a safe return to campus. We continue to work with universities to ensure they translate good intentions to action.
Great to be at the grand opening of Fin Gourmet on the Avenue in
@CoteSaintLuc
together with City Councillor
@mikecohencsl
. I know it will be a tremendous success.
Great to join Canadian Women Against Antisemitism
@cwaa_national
for an insightful conversation last night with MP
@AHousefather
, Coun.
@PasternakTO
, and lawyer Mark Sandler on the ways we can stop antisemitism in our communities. We all have more work to do!
It was a true pleasure to join
@PasternakTO
and Mark Sandler at a town hall hosted by
@cwaa_national
fighting antisemitism tonight. An important conversation and deeply appreciate the excellent local MP
@marcomendicino
joining us.
I joined MP
@AHousefather
and Criminal Lawyer Mark Sandler for a special town hall discussion on fighting antisemitism. Thank you to
@cwaa_national
for organizing this important event and Beth Torah Congregation for hosting us. Special thanks to MP

for coming out
Last night I reflected on the pain of losing Hersh Goldberg-Polin. His murder felt very personal, having met his family. But today I am full of anger. At the murder of 6 innocent hostages by Hamas terrorists, funded by Iran. My deepest sympathies to their families & friends.
Over the last months I have been repeatedly speaking with
@mcgillu
& its administration is deeply committed to a safe campus for all. Consistent with not tolerating vandalism or breach of campus rules, police & security were called right away. The lawn has now been repaired.
Today we awoke to more heartbreak with news of Hamas’ brutal and recent murder of Hersh, Eden, Alex, Ori and Almog, all kidnapped from Nova Music Festival and Carmel, kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri.
The pain and loss are heavy on our hearts and souls. This morning I went to
Incredibly important reporting. We have fought hard to ensure that our bilingual institutions do not lose their status by legislation. We cannot have civil servants remove that status in secret.
EXCLUSIVE: Quebec’s French-language watchdog is failing to disclose to the public, as it must by law, the bilingual status of some hospitals. My story below.👇
This is heartbreaking. I have met his parents who have been incredible advocates for Hersh & the other hostages, most recently at the DNC. Just like when Montrealer Alex Look & 7 other Canadians were murdered by Hamas last Oct 7, this one hits close to home. Devastated.
Devastating news from Rachel Goldberg and Jon Polin…
With broken hearts, the Goldberg-Polin family is devastated to announce the death of their beloved son and brother, Hersh. The family thanks you all for your love and support and asks for privacy at this time.

@McGillU
President Saini, thank you for your thoughtful answers and unwavering commitment to enforcing the university's code of conduct and to making sure Jewish students are safe at McGill, and remain valued members of the university community. Thank you to my friend MP
No matter what issue you think you are fighting for, vandalism and destruction of property is illegal. This conduct is unacceptable on university campuses or anywhere else.
Quel que soit le problème pour lequel vous pensez vous battre, le vandalisme et la destruction de biens sont illégaux. Cette conduite est inacceptable sur les campus universitaires ou ailleurs.

There are those who claim that this type of demonstration near the table of a Jewish club should be permitted as they claim it simply causes Jews to be uncomfortable. I disagree. This is targeting Jews on campus shouting hateful chants. It scares people away from Hillel’s table.
This was the ugly scene yesterday at
@TorontoMet
that greeted new and returning students at the annual clubs fair. As Jewish students gathered at the Hillel table, protesters screamed for “Intifada” and demanded “Zionism off our campus”. Let’s be clear, this is vile antisemitic
This necklace - which is inscribed with the words “Bring Them Home” - was given to me by the Canadian families of hostages kidnapped in the brutal Hamas terrorist attack on October 7th. Like thousands of Jews and allies across the country and around the world, I wear it every day
