Congratulations to Syria! The world rejoices for the people of Syria. After enduring years of displacement and hardship as refugees, they deserve this moment of hope and happiness. However, after the celebrations, a critical period of challenges and decisions lies ahead. Towards a New Syria: Governance by the People 1. Revolution Achieved, but the Journey Ahead is Complex The success of the Syrian people in overcoming years of oppression and bringing the revolution to fruition is remarkable. The long-awaited "Arab Spring" has finally reached Syria. However, as seen in similar uprisings across the region and throughout history, sustaining the revolution in a way that truly serves the people is an immense challenge—one that has rarely been successful so far. 2. The Unresolved Conflict with the SDF The ongoing war with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) remains a critical uncertainty for Syria’s future. Even if the United States withdraws support for the SDF, millions of people within Syria continue to back them, complicating prospects for stability. 3. Israeli Occupation and Aggression Israel’s occupation of Syrian border regions, under the pretext of securing its "interests," and its repeated bombings of public infrastructure to weaken Syria, could provoke significant resistance from Syrian rebels. This remains a volatile and dangerous front. 4. HTS is formed by different militias including foreign fighters joined due the global call for "jihad" by ex-ideology of current HTS leadership. Those foreign fighters are rallies against China, Russia, USA and other countries around the world. So, how and what is the destiny for those foreign forces? We have Bosnian and Afghanistan examples. 5. Regional Conflicts Surrounding Syria Even imagining a "zero-conflict" Syria is difficult, given the regional turmoil. The ongoing Palestine war, instability in Lebanon, and other conflicts continue to pressure the region. Just as these crises have strained Türkiye for years, they are likely to challenge Syria's efforts at recovery and survival. 6. Major Powers and Syria’s Role in the Region Syria’s future is also shaped by the involvement of external powers such as the United States, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, China, Russia, and Iran. As a nation emerging from civil war, Syria faces the daunting task of navigating these global and regional dynamics. 7. Fragmentation and the Risk of Militias' Rule Despite the establishment of a transitional government by HTS, Syria remains largely governed by militias, including the independent OSSO. The lack of unification among these groups poses a significant risk to Syria’s long-term stability.

Today, the General Secretary of the International Union of East Turkistan Organizations, Abdureşid Eminhaci, met with Hasbie Muda, the Youth Wing Chairman of Malaysia’s Amanah Negara Party and a member of the Malaysian Senate. During the meeting, they discussed future collaborations and joint projects to strengthen international advocacy for the East Turkistan cause. Additionally, ETHR’s report on women’s rights and religious oppression was presented at the end of the meeting. @PartiAmanah
