Very excited to announce that @SpiderPool_com are now merged-mining @rootstock_io! Spiderpool has been in operation for 8 years, and today contributes ≈25EH/s of hashrate to the Bitcoin network. Spiderpool joins @AntPoolofficial, @ViaBTC, @f2pool_official, @binance Pool, @luxor, @BraiinsMining and many other Bitcoin miners in securing Rootstock. Merged-miners secured Rootstock in Q4 2024 with 410.63 EH/s of hashrate, a hasrate ratio between Rootstock/Bitcoin of 56.40%. That means - 56.40% of the entire Bitcoin network's hashing power, also secured Rootstock. This is why we believe Rootstock is the most secure smart contract platform in existence today. In merged-mining Rootstock, Bitcoin miners are simultaneously securing the Bitcoin network and securing Rootstock. For doing this, Bitcoin miners receive rewards in $rBTC - an additional revenue stream for miners, at no extra cost. This all helps Rootstock play an important role in scaling Bitcoin. As an EVM compatible smart contract platform, a diverse Bitcoin DeFi ecosystem has been built on Rootstock - protocols like @SushiSwap @Uniswap @okutrade @SovrynBTC @beefyfinance @lifiprotocol are live today. This is a Bitcoin-native DeFi ecosystem, secured by Bitcoin hashrate, using Bitcoin as the native gas token. @lopp @rootstock_io The stats site is pretty inaccurate in tracking merged mining hashrate. The current hashrate is around 58%. We publish detailed reports on the state of merged mining quarterly. Here is the latest one The one for Q4 2024 will soon be published.
