We are still here at the Milimani Law Courts waiting for the Ruling on the custodial application by the DPP. Despite having more than the 185 peaceful protesters in custody for more than 24 hours, the ODPP seeks to have them detained for 21 more days. Ruling at 8.30 pm

We sought leave of Appeal and applied for typed copies of the Ruling and proceedings.
Court rules that protesters will be released on a cash bail of KES 500, with a mention for pre-trial on 30th July, 2024.

All arrested people have been given Personal Bond of Kshs. 50,000. This does not mean that they will pay 50,000 to be released, it means that they are free to go and commit to paying that bond amount if they fail to appear when summoned. More details below:
