HERE WE GO CONFIRMED!!!
Happy to announce I have signed for Canada FC
#OhCanada
So in summary:
National Team = 🇳🇬
Club Team = 🇨🇦 🍁
Glory be to God for the amazing Journey
Unto the next chapter
Today actually makes it 4 years we landed in this blessed country from Australia.
Came here married with no kids, no property, no proper direction etc.
But here we are 😎😊
Not where we want to be but very far from where we used to be
Forever grateful for the journey

Immigrants don’t get to vote right away. Even as a PR. It takes 3 years to qualify for citizenship and say another year to get the citizenship.
@dolawanle
@masongreenwood
@ManUtd
I don’t think the issue is bringing him back
The issue is the fan and public reaction
It could put the team in disarray plus away games will be tough for him.
Spain has really helped him and the noise is going down
+1 🎂
Another 365 days of God’s abundant blessings in all areas of my life
Thank you all for being a part of my last year
Let’s make this new year memorable and remarkable
Cheers 🥂
One of the biggest lessons I learnt in 2022 is that: “I don’t need more time, I need more FOCUS”. Not sure if you understand this but you won’t get more time but you can eliminate your distractions by being more FOCUSED.
@TundeTASH
Lol. Interesting comments. No one says you need to resign or leave in a bureaucratic way. If the relationship is good then good notice is needed. If not, this is another way to do it. And as per references, you don’t need references from all your employers.
If you are new to Canada
Don’t commit to buying any car yet till you run insurance quotes using different cars(models and years) and post codes
You will save money by doing this
Thank me later
🥂
When you are new to Canada, things may be tough in the beginning but with access to good information and good people around you, things will get better.
You may need to think differently or even take on a new career.
Don’t be rigid, embrace the process and it will end in Joy.
@iSlimfit
Chelsea has not finished above Man Utd in the last 2 seasons and this season wont be the exception. This table is your fantasy and you can live in it.
Please if you have 2 jobs
Don’t spend the 2nd income lavishly
It’s not time to buy that Range Rover or go on expensive vacations
THATS YOUR RETIREMENT (INVESTMENT) ACCELERATOR FUND
You won’t keep the 2 jobs forever
#financialwisdom
I am yet to use my Canadian passport despite living close to the border with USA
Need to plan something with my wife against next month even if it’s to buy ice cream and then drive back
Passport needs to be used aggressively 😂
If you are an employee and your employer pays annual or quarterly bonuses, you are better off taking it as RRSP contribution and not cash.
The taxes at the time of taking the money cash is usually high
Most typically see about half the pay after taxes
For new immigrants:
It’s tempting to want to finance a car but it can really damage your finances in terms of monthly commitments
It’s important to forecast your future bills and potential income 2-3years ahead in other to see if the car payment will work out or not
Avoid
Today in Canada, 47% of the country is paycheque to paycheque and could not handle an unexpected expense of just $500.
In the 18-35 year old age group that rises to 53%, and a staggering 57% of those aged 35-54.
🤦♂️
If you are referred to a job and you do get it
PLEASE and PLEASE do more than your best to perform excellent well in all dimensions
Not for your sake but for the person who recommended you
Because some people are just unfortunate 🤦♂️
West jet paid me $1000 for compensation.
They cancelled my flight from Calgary to Toronto last month, then rebooked me to another crazy route. I called them and they amended it.
I was still angry, then checked up my rights and saw I could get some money. Today it’s been paid 😎
@Olujoesy
@EduardoHagn
Its a 3-4-3 formation in actual sense. On paper it looks like RB.
Tactically he can defend the RB spot if opposition attacks is persistently
ALMOST fell for a scam call today
The call was about a promo on Rogers/Fido
95% of what he said checked out true except he made few errors
The call came in 2 stages:
The first guy made the offer (30% discount on all my services) and said his manager would call in 3hrs to
I stopped planning in Naira for my Nigerian expenses for over 1year now
It’s sad to see how the exchange rate is free coasting
It’s best to plan for your parents or dependents in CAD or USD, that way your budgeting is fixed and you can easily meet up
It is well
If you are new to Canada, do not be afraid of getting and using a credit card. Canada is a credit based society and you will need it badly.
It’s also important to get at least 2 credit cards from 2 sources to have an established credit. Mortgages require this.
What does it take to blow $10,000 in one year?
Just $27.40 a day in miscellaneous spending.
It's not always the big purchases that keep you broke. It's the small ones that you think won't make a difference.
Having 2 jobs is not sustainable on the long run
You may have to rethink your strategy
Don’t plan your finances with the plan of keeping two jobs forever
Peace ✌️
One of the first shockers to new immigrants to Canada is how expensive our Car insurance is especially for those in the GTA
$400 per month for a car bought for $5000 is insane
It is well
One of the biggest traps in North America is Autoloan. So easy to access but a big cancer to your cashflow if not properly understood. Being able to make monthly payments doesn’t mean you can truly afford a car. Caution!!!
@codediinc
lol. Remember you don’t have to win a game by playing well or holding possession. We beat Arsenal the last time by not playing well but defending well.
Buy a $50,000 car:
"Congratulations, we're so proud of you"
Start investing in stocks/ETF/Investment Funds etc.
"You have to be careful, that sounds very risky".
We have to change this mindset.
Happy Monday
One of the most life changing conversations I have had in my life:
Mentor: “congratulations, proud of you aburo. So Adesola, what do you want to do now that you are done with your .?
Me: “I will like to pursue a PhD, …………..”
Mentor: “and what next
The definition of “I make good money” widely varies
For some it’s $65k annually, others it’s $120k and for few it’s $2.5M annually
At the end of the day, you can always dream bigger
Happy Monday
🥂
@omaakatugba
Must we always find a scape goat to castigate? The last line of the defense is the goal keeper, which means he is the last to be blamed. Why not blame the players who allowed the shot to the fired? Nigeria simply played into Tunisia's tactics and we lost. The team is also young
Making $150,00 on a job versus making it as a business is totally different
Canada will tax you even at death. Lol
Business incomes are usually more tax efficient due to lower taxes on business plus the ability to deduct expenses&even get tax credit
Business is the way to go😎
I wasn’t thinking of leaving. I got a chance to visit South Korea for work for about 6 months in 2015. After what I experienced, I knew I could never go back to my old life in Nigeria.
And the journey began………..
A good financial plan includes:
-Plan to fix the past errors (Debts etc.)
-Plan to meet Present financial goals
-Plan to meet Future financial goals or concerns or unforeseen circumstances
The tools used should also be tax efficient
Happy Friday
Cheers 🥂
You don’t have to buy a home to the max of your approved capacity. Your mortgage broker and realtor do not know your monthly bills including commitments you pay back home in Nigeria. You may be better off starting out small then upgrading after a few years. Be careful!!!
The biggest benefit of your kids RESP account is not the government grant. Yes, I am sure you are surprised but it’s true. The main benefit is that the account allows money to be compounded TAX FREE. So it’s more important to get the investments in the account working harder.
Most people with this scenario will buy real estate
I am putting this fund 100% in an investment fund
Something like S&P 500
When it doubles itself, I will then consider real estate investments in a positive cash flowing property in a landlord friendly state/province
My friend just inherited around $150K.
He is 35
Single
Debt free (except mortgage)
Has a house & good job.
What advice would you give him on what to do with this windfall?
Anytime I have the chance to mentor any one, I get to know a bit first then send them a book to read before we continue.
Most won’t read it, so they won’t come back again.
Anyone who does read it, automatically gets my attention, and phone number if they don’t have it already
