View of the volcano Stromboli on the horizon with the Milky Way stretching across the night sky. I shot this image using ⁦the @alynwallace ⁩ Starglow filter to enhance the brighter stars, essential when in such a dark sky, light pollution free place as the Aeolian Islands.

I just read someone saying that the problems of empty supermarket shelves, no fuel, the shortage of nurses & care workers, the rotting food in farms, the shortage of HGV drivers, has *nothing* to do with Brexit, it's just because the EU workers are not coming here any more. Yup.

Trains in Italy are superb, modern inexpensive & efficient, with USB charging ports in each seat. Even in the south - this is a train I just on from Messina to Catania in Sicily - each wagon has several bike spaces with free charging for e-bikes. A 2 hour journey, all for €8.40

The queue in Highgate London for a small petrol station. The shortages are really being felt. That this should happen is unbelievable and an indictment of the current government and their forcing of Brexit on the UK. This was predicted, yet ignored. #petrolshortages #brexitbonus

@NaoShoo This is the real human tragedy of Brexit. This. Inexcusable and unforgivable. I am really sorry for you mate. People need know what they have done.

@Haggis_UK It’s becoming embarrassing listening to him. All he says is either I can’t recall, well… Jeremy Corbyn and now it’s …what about Angela Rayner? As if they’re somehow insightful or relevant comments. What an embarrassment.

@bella_scozia @andrewchase70 I’d call it less breaking up the UK as this was done already by English nationalists, but rather saving Scotland and giving it a chance to unleash its potential.

@bananafund @campbellclaret There is a country in the north of your little Britain called Scotland. Some athletes are born there. They are Scottish athletes who compete for team GB at the Olympics. But not for team GB at the commonwealth games nor World Cup or 6 nations rugby. Whether you like it or not pal

@Timeflies1980 @mrjamesob No one has been so angry. No one has been lied to with such impunity and continuity. No one has faced such restrictions during a deadly pandemic and accepted them and then seen a prime minister and friends flout them with such arrogance which we have never before experienced.

@Otto_English So sad to see people’s hearts being filled with hate and anger. Some politicians - especially fascists like Farage and Braverman and Jenrick - have polluted UK society. We would never express vile opinions like this publicly. Farage and the others have made it mainstream. So sad

@JohnWest_JAWS @gibbsy66 @WhatsApp @BorisJohnson The messages are not lost John. We all know that. Unless the Covid enquiry makes it a criminal offence with jail time to deliberately withhold evidence as for other defendants & other crimes, then it’ll be an entirely futile exercise. He always gets away with lying. It must stop.

Despite the huge increase in people running, cycling & exercising in Regent’s Park during the lockdown, ⁦ @theroyalparks ⁩ have now returned it to being a car park. This is the Inner Circle which imo should be closed to cars. Utterly disgusting & so sad. A missed opportunity.

@nicktolhurst It’s been patently clear since 2016 that the EU cares more for the citizens of the UK than our own government. It’s a scandal of epic proportions. I know who my friends are: and it ain’t the Tories.

@GrafishGraeme @jacquep That’s the problem with the UK. people have been gaslit into believing it’s the fault of others. Not the politicians who brought us Brexit. Or Brexit itself.

@melissasigodo Just think - he could have been helping save British children’s lives in hospital. But the British state thought it was better to lock him in a boat. I’m beginning to think the British state does not think the British people’s best interests are worthy.

@hendopolis @RhonddaBryant In 1997 the Tory party had some very capable and very decent, honourable and honest people. In 2024 the Tory party has only scoundrels, cheats, baboons, liars and spivs and it is rife with corruption and croneyism. It needs far more than a 1997 style wipeout.

@bogwell4018 @MayorofLondon @TfL How far do you deem it reasonable to congest, pollute and make roads dangerous and unusable by anyone else safely? Think about that.
