Despite the similar hot, high-light and dry conditions in which the wild cotton species evolved, physiological and structural features contribute to survival in these harsh conditions. Commercial cotton was sensitive to 38 °C, despite its reputation as a heat-tolerant species.

We also found differences in leaf construction in these species - the C genome species (G. robinsonii and G. sturtianum) produced bigger leaves or produce more leaves in response to heat, while domestic cotton reduced its leaf number and size.

We show that wild cottons from different thermal niches in Australia have higher photosynthetic thermotolerance and greater carboxylation efficiency than domestic cotton (G. hirsutum) at high temperature (38 deg C).

@barca_watch @jk_rowling @Fudds13 No, I wouldn’t. I have friends who once identified as gay or lesbian who now maintain heterosexual relationships. I don’t understand why people going through genuine journeys of self discovery should inspire hatred.

@jk_rowling @Fudds13 Having three children and having a wife has nothing to do with sexuality nor gender identity. I maintained a sexual relationship with my now ex-girlfriend(s) for years before realising, coming to terms with and then coming out as a gay man.
