The chief problem of our time is not folly posturing as courage, but cowardice posturing as carefulness.
Those who don’t see this are looking the other way (probably because they want to look careful).
Homosexuality is invading the Church.
Evangelicals no longer see the severity of this b/c they're busy apologising for their apparently barbaric homophobia, whether or not it's true.
This *is* a "Gospel issue", by the way. If sin is no longer sin, we no longer need a Saviour.
I still remember the first day I ever heard the words to "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross". At the time, I was like any teenage boy in my class, laughing and scoffing at any attempt by a proper grown-up to tell me something apparently profound about my (or anyone’s) life. We

No. Not if you mean proudly gay Christians who redefine sin. That is an exceptionally recent phenomenon.
The threat to the Gospel (and Church unity) is enormous. It completely alters how you proclaim sin/repentance. Christians who don't affirm SSR will be called "harmful", etc.
The Pharisees were actually "progressive":
- didn't stand on Scripture/the power of God
- relied on added human tradition/culture
- didn't practice what they preached
- knew how to use bureaucracy
- liked to entrap opponents
- loved to virtue-signal
- worked in mobs
- hated fun

Classic passive aggression. This is how pre-op post-evangelicals slander their opponents without appearing to do so, thanking God they're more humble and Christlike than "those 'ultra-conservatives'" who are automatically deemed to be arrogant or unChristlike for opposing them.

Many Christians go to great lengths today to "tone down" the Bible, moderating its tougher language to suit the delicate ears/minds of those they seek to impress.
Over time, this kind of long-term cover-up leaves you with Mild Christianity™️ (which is no Christianity at all).
We’ve been pressured into believing that it's unloving to speak strongly about sin.
It’s quite the opposite: if we’re not clear with unbelievers about sin’s severity, we undermine the very Gospel that might save them.
Sometimes “strong words” are the appropriate words.
The neglect of Biblical authority in the modern western Church is nothing short of astonishing.
This neglect has implications. And they're huge. The kind that make entire houses collapse in storms.
If anyone wants to help me support my family and to support my writing/planning towards a more unashamedly Christian approach to Christian beliefs in these strange times, see/share below:
One day, Christ will return to make all things new and render all the enemies of His kingdom a footstool for his feet (Ps. 110:1).
Until that day, we fight His good fight and never give it up until the day He calls us home.
Christians can mock the Bible, hang Pride flags on pulpits, and host drag queen shows in church sanctuaries, but heaven help the Christian who speaks *against* such things using strong words.

Well done, brother.
Speaking the truth truly means doing so when it is inconvenient to do so.
There are many who claim to be doing so, but only until they learn the true cost of the truth.
There is no such thing as freedom of expression in the UK.
Article 10 of the Human Rights Act states “our freedom of expression is fundamental to our democracy”
But a lot of people do not believe in free speech, nor do they believe in democracy. Not really.

According to progressives and world-appeasing evangelicals, Sodom & Gomorrah were bad b/c they weren't hospitable/winsome enough.

The most disgraceful aspect of this: the way the govt was able to usurp authority from the parents was by categorising this as an abuse case.
The parents doing all they could to save their little girl's are "abusive" rather than the authorities who were "allowing" her to die.
For many Christian institutions & leaders today:
- to be "combative" = bad. Always.
- to be "co-operative" = good. Always.
If the "combatant" disagrees with this co-operative ideal, does the "co-operant" co-operate with them? No, they will combat them!
It's devilishly clever.

God is not politically correct. In fact, He's likely the most politically incorrect person in the Bible.
This doesn't mean we should be unnecessarily offensive, but it does mean that God gets to define good/bad speech, not the Zeitgeist.
Let the Evangelical understand...
The reason many progressive Christians are practising another religion is that whilst they profess Jesus they refuse to turn to Him on His terms.
They like the benefits of the Gospel (love, grace, forgiveness), not the requirements (repentance, discipleship, faithfulness).
“And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.”

Jesus won the fight in the wilderness by standing on Scripture (Matt. 4:4).

Evangelicals love the idea of cultural engagement as long as it's in nice things like "the arts" or "community" not "culture wars".
So, being discipled by Netflix and sending your children to pagan school is "missional", but openly denouncing LGBT and abortion is "unhelpful".

In recent years, many evangelicals got caught in a trap.
They spent so long building bridges to the progressive secular swamp that they eventually started drinking the swamp water (CRT, Feminism, LGBT), liking it, and calling it "Gospel".
The evangelists became the evangelised.
It is not hateful to reject sin. It is hateful to tolerate it.

He died for sin because sin does not bring life.
