(Finally, after a year minus 80 days) Releasing SatDump 1.1.0! The list of changes since 1.0.3 is by far too long to list here, but there's an article if you want to see. If you're still on something older, you definitely should update.

With ~260 frames received from JUICE at Bochum @amsatdl overnight, here's an animation of the full moon flyby from 2 point of views! :-) It seems the data can be RGB, so it should be quite nice for Earth data later.

Some video from space courtesy of @TUBspace 's TUBIN satellite. Received on X-Band by @redplanet00 . You can see the satellite tracking a point on Earth as it is passing overhead, as well as some wobble in attitude when it first rotates.

IM-1 Moon mission received by @amsatdl . It is using using 2.5k BPSK, 30k offset. Internal period is 2512-bits, but as of now this doesn't appear to be quite standard, this period doesn't match any CCSDS Turbo / LDPC codec, convolutional doesn't show any results either. @ea4gpz

I am now releasing my Proba-1/2 work, which includes demodulation flowcharts (for both GR 3.7 and 3.8), a Viterbi decoder and the imagery decoders for SWAP, CHRIS and HRC. Huge thanks to @r2x0t for helping me with this and @uhf_satcom for the data!

It may not be perfect on IR, but it works! Here are all 9 ELEKTRO-L channels (MSU-GS)! I can upload full resolution images if someone is interested. Decoder update published as well!

Added (WIP) rotator control for Hamlib TCP (rotctld). Since PSTRotator is also popular I intended to (and there is something), but I will not be able to test it since there's a license requirement... I'll likely do some direct support via serial/etc for some common models too.

Something REALLY unexpected with FengYun-3G happened. The entire satellite has been rotated along the earth-pointing axis. Hence, images have been distorted. I'll push a fix, but this is the first time on any FY-3, very weird maneuver.

Fengyun 3G at 15:37 UTC. There seems to be something wrong with it. The images are upsite down and have a jitter 😳

So... I rewrote my FengYun AHRPT (FY-3A/B/C/D) Decoder similarly to what I did with MetOp. 5x speed improvement, 10x if you count it was multi-threaded before! That means live-decoding now works fine on my 8 years old laptop! And a full pass takes around a minute to decode...

I have reverse-engineered the downlink from WSF-M1 (when unencrypted) with the data from @plugger_lockett . The MWI imager (literally a copy of GPM's GMI...) is operational. Here's all 17 channels, with full support up to primitive projections in SatDump.

Today, finally thanks to some lucky findings by @OK9UWU (and his data), I was able to decode the Hinode / Solar-B satellite! :-) The X-Band transmitter has failed and all payload data is now transmitted on X-Band. Still a bit more processing required for high-res images though.

A first for me, Syracuse-3B on X-Band, 130cm dish! Looks like @arvedviehweger was right and my old mixer was the issue... Forgive me for the very janky setup :), definitely gotta improve it! Thanks @arvedviehweger , @uhf_satcom , @DStolnikov and everyone who helped me with this!

Some more tests with the USRP x410 @SDR_Radio . This time around, feeding the ~500MSPS to @sylvain_azarian 's GPU DDC code to decimate to 5MSPS. Working nicely :-)

More work on decoding EUMETSAT's MSG Raw Data downlink, this time from @digitelektro1 data from MSG-10 as the prime full disk satellite. Turns out it's not that hard to receive at all :-) Slowly getting a decoder capable of isolating full disks etc working, so here's a nice one!

Finishing up my Orbcomm work a while ago... Adding a pipeline to do these plots live for VHF antenna checks etc. It's quite cool to see the satellite's path draw in realtime though! :-)

Decoding 556m/px imagery from DMSP (F17/18 as of now) on S-Band :-) Turns out, when more toward the west US coast & after dumping, they transmit in the clear... Received by @LazzSnazz ! IR is transmited at 5x lower resolution though. Of course, added support to SatDump. 1/2

On this day in 1998, NOAA-15 was launched. While initially planned to last for only 2 years, most instruments are still perfectly operational to this day! And here's an image from its APT downlink - just as perfectly functional received this morning.

METEOR-M 2-3 is active, and I have added initial support including projections in SatDump already. LRPT works with the M2-x pipeline and I will make it project-able this evening.

Releasing SatDump 1.0.2. It's mainly bugfixes, but it also includes some AVHRR improvements by @ZSztanga and (initial) USRP support thanks to @sylvain_azarian lending me the hardware.
