And what is that faith in? In “born in the wrong body”? The idea that you’re a female soul trapped in a man’s body? A deeply religious concept backed by zero evidence, not even slightly. In fact, the studies we have on AGP older trans “women” do show the brain structures are closer to men, but frankly I don’t find those studies compelling either for the same reasons. Your delusions don’t mean you understand what it is to be a woman. Your only frame of reference is your deep seated faith.

In short - and I think this much is fair to say - I think we’re groping around in a huge dark room with a broom - where consciousness and its diseases are concerned, and perhaps looking at the wrong stuff because we don’t even begin to know where to look. But it doesn’t mean stuff like this doesn’t have real value or interest - IE who cares if the brain structures cause it, it is very interesting that AGP trans people do in fact resemble male brain structures. Dispensing with all the cause/effect stuff, this observation still has real impact.
