Utterly outrageous - social media is full of nasty comments like this from anonymous accounts at the moment. Ignore them and pity the people who feel compelled to write such bile - their lives must be deeply sad.

There's a reference in Genesis to lights in the heavens for ‘signs and seasons, days, and years’. I’ve always interpreted this as astrology as well.
Great news this morning - an SME client has won the bid I worked with them on. This contract catapults them onto the next level, enabling them to meet their strategic objectives, employ more people and deliver more social value. This is why I do what I do.

Yes all the time, and smiling at them, and perhaps even having a conversation - I’m from Manchester. I’m an expert in this crazy behaviour.

Hi, I’m a construction bid writer. You might know me from my greatest hits “Are you sure we should be bidding for this?”, “That doesn’t answer the bloody question”, and the chart-topping “Editing down to 500 words from 2000 is quite a big job”
Hi, I’m a social media marketer. You might know me from my greatest hits “That’s not content, that’s spam” “What’s with all the hashtags in the copy you sent me?” And the chart-topping “Stop asking me how social media works if you’re just going to tell me I’m wrong”
Two scheduled Zoom calls just didn't take place today - I was doing a favour for both of them and the other person didn't join in and for whatever reason. Is it too much to ask to send a cancellation note?

I also love the fact that Christmas is for everyone - all you need is a love of fairy lights and mince pies/dried fruit sweet things in general. That's it. Everyone is welcome.
Good evening

. Please introduce yourselves - who you are, what you do and where you come from.
Your bonus question this evening is: what has been the highlight of your day today?
Just come across the concept of virtual coffee breaks - catching up over a brew with someone on video call. Does anyone fancy catching up this week to chat about anything? I'd offer to meet IRL, but have four bid deadlines, so will be desk-bound.

Very pleased with how my Christmas cake turned out. It’s had its first drink of brandy and is now resting in a cake box in the cupboard.

First meal out in Altrincham tonight in the longest time. Delicious food and great service from Ollie and Keni

- now to enjoy James Bond at the cinema.
Am I the only person in the world without white bookcases, laden with serious tomes coordinated by colour? I’ve developed serious bookcase envy.

Great news for a Friday - one of my clients has obtained a place on a key framework, representing a real turning point in their business. We have been working towards this since October last year - the hard work has paid off.

In these tricky times, I’m re-sharing one of the most magical moments of my life: a rainbow that appeared in Whiting Bay when I was walking there on a holiday a few years ago.
I'm really enjoying connecting with new people and finding out what they do. I'd love to hear from you too!

These beautiful flowers are keeping me company this week - a present from another bid writer I’ve been mentoring recently. They’re on their way and flying now, which is lovely to see.
I'm really pleased that

I think it's different for everyone. For example, my work is fairly niche, so LinkedIn and other social media works well for me. Local networking, less so, but it's nice to meet people.
