Trinidad is far from tolerant tbh. 2018 jouvert I went with a group that had two gay men in it and jouvert was cut short because one of them was rushed and beat up just for dancing and being themselves. They weren’t bothering nobody nothing. So to say this is dense.
To say Trinidadian men are violently homosexual requires more evidence because we are probably one of the most tolerant societies in the region and further. I understand you felt the need to defend yourself by throwing that in there but please touch some grass. Read. Travel.

All I wanna add to this is that there are many FREE or Low cost carnival related activities and they don’t get the marketing and the push that they should get. The things that are getting the push are the expensive flashy things.
You guys are essentially arguing that if you’re not willing to spend money on carnival then you do not love carnival culture. That’s a very slippery slope and a poorly constructed argument. I don’t wanna tussle but please just think about all the ppl who cannot afford but LOVE it
