Today, a historic day for the Capitol, former Representative Alyce Clarke is being honored with a portrait to hang in room 204 at the state capitol. This is the first portrait of a female and African American to be placed inside the state building. #msleg

Know those new-ish black car tags you can get in Mississippi? The proceeds go to death benefits for families of law enforcement officers or fire fighters. They’ve generated over $7.5 million. Senate passes SB 2487 which will increase that benefit to $250k #msleg

On day two of Conference weekend. Yesterday, a huge amount of appropriations bills died because they were not filed before deadline. Appropriations bills handle budgets for agencies among other issues. What will happen next requires those bills to be revived somehow. #msleg

Did you know that the proceeds from the popular black out tags go directly into a fund for families of fallen first responders who were killed in the line of duty? Well, those tags have done so well lawmakers were able to increase that death benefit substantially. #msleg
