Last month, Melrose girls basketball coach Kevin Lackey picked up career win #300. Lackey won state titles with the Melrose boys in 2018, 2019, 2020, but spent the past couple seasons coaching the girls team. He is currently in his 14th season as a head coach.

Thursday night against visiting Piedra Vista, Volcano Vista senior Rian Gonzales broke the state record with 17 three pointers in their 98-45 win. Gonzales finished with 62 points, which ties him for 6th best all-time in a boys basketball game (video courtesy VVHS) @VVHSBoysBBall
