Stay away from the ESV. The scripture says YE ARE WASHED, YE ARE SANCTIFIED, YE ARE Justified. It’s a present tense. It’s high important to know that.
Ok, God doesn’t approve of homosexuality, and the Bible says as much. “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Wait a moment. God isn’t only opposed to homosexuality. Anyone in MAGA drink too much? Anyone greedy for money? Anyone have a non biblical divorce and remarry? Anyone cheat on their spouse? Anyone sleeping with their girlfriend/boyfriend? Congratulations; YOU are in the same boat. You can’t single out homosexuality and ignore the rest. It’s ALL sinful. But remember, there’s good news! “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:11 ESV And such WERE some of you!!! We can repent of our sins, turn to Jesus, and be washed clean. Not because we deserve it, but because Jesus paid it all. So rather than hyper focus on one man’s sin, let us all be aware of our own, and let us share the news that in Christ, there is new life and freedom.
