I've been through something similar but without the "gooey-eyed romance/infatuation" aspect of this story. It terrified me that someone could read my mind, I felt as if I was under surveillance. It then ended up that several people could read my mind, terrifying as hell.

If you go into a relationship with someone you know has a serious, lifelong mental illness and aren't put off that they have a serious, lifelong mental illness and you're loyal to them then you're truly rare and I commend you. Thank you. ❤️

Mental illness not only affects your mind but also drains you physically. The toll it takes on your body makes it incredibly challenging to function in daily life. Although it may appear as laziness, it's anything but that; it is in fact a debilitating exhaustion.

I think it's unfair to completely dismiss BPD as a genuine mental illness. Many people identify with the diagnosis after understanding it better. What I believe needs to change is how BPD and its sufferers are treated by mental health professionals and the stigma surrounding it.

My mums' friend died at the age of 46 of cancer today, something that could have been prevented if the healthcare system didn't focus all its attention solely on covid. A lot of people have been neglected by the system because of this pandemic and it's so, so heartbreaking.

Being alive at the end of the year if you have mental health problems/illnesses with suicidality isn't something to celebrate. Suicidal thoughts aren't a game level that you beat; it's chronic and lauding it insinuates the ones who've lost their lives to suicide have failed.

Psych meds aren't a cure all. You can definitely relapse while being compliant with meds and treatment. Please don't assume that someone must have not taken their medication when they show signs of or are in the grips of a relapse. It's ignorant and unhelpful.

I despise how some people trivialise mental illness and use it as an adjective or a buzz word; no, that scene on your favourite show isn't making you mentally ill or giving you a mental breakdown - please stop saying that, it erases genuine experiences of mental illness.
