The thing about Amber’s evidence is when you actually go through it, the idea that she faked it is so obviously ridiculous. It starts before both their marriage and metoo. It’s contemporaneous texts with typos to her mom and friends and Depp’s employees. It’s 911 phone call logs.
@korysverse
The way people talk about him you’d think he was bullying the group but he just joined the basketball team and made some new friends while still being part of the party and maintaining his friendships.
It’s the way Genya Safin is the most interesting character in the trilogy by far but no one wants to talk about her. She’s a literal genius who blends Corporalki and Materialki work seemlessly, she poisoned her abuser with her own skin, and she goes from pariah to leader.
@birdsforprey
Also, the people that think she’s lying also seem to think she’s telling Kate James’s story. So even if she was acting in their minds, they still apparently believe this is a retelling of an actual sexual assault. Why do they think it’s appropriate to laugh at that?
Baby Connor annoyed that his teammates are talking about videogames on the bench and having to be told by his mom that that's normal is so endearing to me.
@brosandprose
Some of us were screaming at the top of our lungs that he was an abuser but you know in a few years, it’ll be reframed as “we all did Amber Heard wrong”. Well, I didn’t.
Kind of emotional about all of this but there’s something so bittersweet about intentionally choosing to feel the worst heartache with the people you love the most.
It’s her mom and dad minimizing what she’s going through and telling her it’s not the real Johnny. It’s his employees asking her to get him sober on set because he’s impossible.
If Zoya was a guy, she’d be a booktwt fav. Dark hair, blue eyes, sharp jawline, tragic backstory, bullies the main character in first interaction, super powerful and badass. I’m just saying.
@LolOverruled
Just went to her tiktok and her first 2 pinned videos are her massaging his hair and him jokingly slapping her ass. The 3rd is her saying how much she loves that her husband surprises her and plans romantic things for her.
If you’re congratulating yourself on not getting caught up in the Depp Heard case and talking about focusing on gun violence instead, I want to remind you that the issues at play are extremely connected. The number 1 predictor of gun violence is violence against women.
@reslanoff
I cannot understand how anyone thinks it’s okay to harass a literal child because she’s playing a character in a tv show and you don’t like her casting.
@thislovefm
Imagine hearing a lawyer describe texts about your ex husband wanting to burn and rape your corpse as “not everyone’s cup of tea” and “dark humor”.
@iancwelker007
@lexilafleur
Duclair has been playing hockey for over a decade with dreads and has had no issue with helmets. Just admit it’s a stupid policy that has no effect on actual hockey.
It’s iO and Rocky texting each other about Amber getting help because they’re worried about their friend. It’s photos that Rocky took and a call that iO made when he heard her abuse on a phone call. And their recollection perfectly matches the timeline and call logs.
@cocainecross
The third video is also literally her talking about what type of skating is easier and her kids just being typical kids who occasionally get annoyed.
@justmights
I also don’t think these people understand what this trial is about. It’s not a criminal trial determining who’s guilty of abuse. It’s determining if Amber Heard’s op-Ed was libel and defamation. He has the burden of proof, not her. A guilty verdict isn’t possible in this trial.
After signing a one-year contract yesterday, Travis Dermott will make his official

The cross attorney also introduced her love notes in a journal to him to try to disprove the abuse which I thought was strange because a large part of her testimony was about how much she loved him and how it made it difficult to leave.
@cockleth
The way she did to Jacaerys what Viserys did to her. She had a first child who’s claim would already be seen as tenuous for a reason out of their control (womanhood and bastardy) and then went on to remarry and have children without that concern.
If you do not like stats just say that, but implying that stats are a boy thing and girls and women aren’t interested in them is ridiculous especially when women like Alison Lukan have been at the forefront of demystifying the way hockey statistics work.
@cocainecross
The fact that he had multiple houses to go to and she would have to go stay in hotels she could not afford and people still think he didn’t have the power.
@JWhocares_
@brosandprose
If you believe their abuse was mutual, then she never should’ve been sued. And mutual abuse does not exist. Reactive violence on the part of victims does. Calling it mutual abuse when a victim fights back reinforces the perfect victim myth & tells victims to be docile.
An example: AH alleges that in March 2013, JD went on a drinking binge and was abusive with her. Substantiating this are days of texts from Nathan Holmes, Christ Debrowski, Christian Carino, and more about JD’s out of control drinking. She even texts her mom a pic of her bruise.
@yanoforsure
Weird how innocent until proven guilty never applies to women. If you’re saying that about these men outside the context of the justice system, you’re assuming that the victim is a liar until proven honest.
@cocainecross
I want to be very clear that her kids are not at all at fault and children should never be forced to be around adults they aren’t comfortable with. But Britney is a victim of awful abuse and part of that abuse has been intentionally isolating her from her loved ones.
@justmights
And considering 12 of her 14 allegations of abuse were found to be substantially true in the uk trial, it does not seem like he’ll be able to meet his burden of proof in the Virginia trial.
No, but this is so true. It also reminds of that tweet about how the d*rkling would’ve definitely seduced a 60 year old man if he was the sun summoner. The whole time, the d*rkling is thinking, “why couldn’t the sun summoner be in their 30s?”
@RottenInDenmark
Also, even if they were some of the absolute best jurors in the world and never searched up the people they were meant to judge. I can’t visit YouTube where I solely watch baking videos without a barrage of depp heard content. And they still go home to families who talk.
The incident where he threw a phone at her after accusing her of defecating in her bed: there are phone records of them calling Kevin, then Samantha, then iO. There’s a clear record of her calling iO, iO texting Rocky, & both calling 911. And her parents’ response following.
@TheAnalysisGuy
@scaredofrobots
@mightbeluela
There’s a few ways but one of them is that it forces women to always walk on eggshells around men. They’re overly polite, they make things easier for men because they’re scared of what they could do if they get angry. And that does benefit all men.
@RottenInDenmark
A helpful frame for me is that Accepting Depp as the victim doesn’t just mean accepting Heard as the abuser. It means accepting that she started faking text messages, photos, conversations, doctor’s appointments all years before they married and divorced. I don’t accept that.
@RottenInDenmark
One of the interesting things I see a lot of ppl doing is both saying she faked the injuries she has in photos and minimizing the damage shown. So it’s both that she fabricated them and that they’re minor.
Hey, just an important reminder before the show comes out that Leigh Bardugo is a survivor of an abusive relationship so while talking about the show and books, please be conscious of that. Don’t talk about her not understanding abuse or trivialize anything she says about it.
@JFreshHockey
Really confused why Sidney Crosby who loves routine so much that he has been wearing the same rotting jockstrap for 20 years doesn’t want to leave the only team he’s ever played for.
People don’t seem to understand that Johnny Depp is suing Amber for saying she’s a survivor of DV and SA. She didn’t name him. So if you’re talking about your own experiences and not naming the perpetrator to defend him, but wouldn’t have proof in a trial, this could harm you.
@RottenInDenmark
Tweets like this keep showing up on my timeline and I feel like this trial is just highlighting how little progress we have made in society’s understanding of abuse.
December 2015 incident: She texts multiple people about having injuries that need to be covered. Her makeup artist testifies to covering them. She texts about advil dosage even. There are photos of JD’s destruction sent to Kevin Murphy. And multiple medical records corroborate.
@korysverse
That girl has been persistently bullied on social media for years. Everything about her is made fun of and it’s at the point where she no longer has any social media on her phone because of how horrible it was for her. People need to find a funnier joke.
@BADG3N1US
@itsnotjess123
On the subject of Marley plot lines, Mr. Schue suspending her for being unwilling bc to wear a bikini to perform when she has a literal eating disorder
And you still have to deal with Stephen Deuters texting Amber that JD cried when he was told he kicked her. You still have Depp texting Amber’s mom that he tossed the phone that hit her and she should’ve caught it while texting her dad that he didn’t throw the phone at all.
A thread of genyalina quotes from my google doc in honor of Jessie wanting Alina to be queer. Because they should be canon and there’s a ton of evidence:
@lynnmandas
And you pretty much never hear it directed toward gay men. Like, sexuality is different for different people. Why is it so hard for people to accept that even if their sexuality is fluid and changing, some people’s are not?
@stardwvlley
Like, the two injuries they want so desperately to prove are makeup or photoshop are both from incidents he’s literally admitted to. He’s on audio saying he head butted her and there’s a text where he admits to tossing a phone that hit her face. They just don’t know the case.
If you consider Muslim women choosing to wear the hijab oppression but the government forcing Muslim women not to wear it just fine, then you’re islamophobic.
