Imagine not being able to properly appreciate this camp deliciousness.
The funniest bad scene in movie history is the end of Cruel Intentions when the principle of the boarding school takes the crucifix off Sarah Michelle Gellar’s wrist, unscrews it, and discovers her hidden stash of cocaine, all while the song Bitter Sweet Symphony plays

People need to do some research and invest some time in exploring her early-to-mid-1930s filmography. You can't watch a film like Alice Adams and claim that she's "just playing herself."
the fact that katharine hepburn gets criticised for sort of always playing herself and not having a lot of range is like yes kind of true but also my favorite performance of hers is from long day's journey into night and she's playing like. the opposite of herself.

@oliverquicks It's frustrating because it could conceivably be funny but all of the specifics associated with the meme are so inaccurate and vague that the joke doesn't land. Boxcar Bertha/Mean Streets-era Scorsese wasn't making three-hour-long crime epics.

@heyjaeee "Got you all fired up with your Napoleon complex. Seeing right through you like you're bathing in windex" is also up there for me.

Every single post-1985 chick flick has taken a page out of Desperately Seeking Susan's book.
What is one of the most influential 80s movies? 🤔. Aside from the box office, and aside from what is objectively better, I'm asking about the movies that define the 80s and have had the most staying power and influence for decades.

Ah yes, those famously drama-averse Old Hollywood stars.
The way Zendaya deals with fame is similar to old Hollywood stars. At her young age, she’s got more PR skills than some older celebrities. You won’t ever catch her talking, posting or showing BS. She knows how to stay famous and relevant without creating drama around her (thread)
