Tbh I think GBVSR has a lot of potential, just nerf down top 2, make 66L a lot worse in neutral, lower damage a fair amount, throw range nerf, and make guard cancel AT LEAST -6 lol. Game has a solid foundation just needs significant system changes and it will be great IMO.

For newer Johnny players, don't worry about optimizing for damage. You shit out a lot dmg, get the knockdown + lvls. They will die if you just keep them in the corner while you have lvls.
Actual corner BnB vs dollar store variant, 5 dmg.

Yeah, winning is just the sum. No point in focusing on it exclusively.
But it goes deeper than that. People will get depressed losing to a knowledge check character that they didn't lab or prep against, and take it to heart that they suck 😭

Matchmaking is the area they would be the absolute worst at giving feedback.
High MMR in every game with ranked is an anomaly, it functions completely different than most of the ladder.
Their advice would only be good for high MMR, which game devs already solicit them for.

The trend with newer FGs is less character variance/depth/strength + strong & easy to use system mechanics. And execution doesn't matter
Not as many tools to solve problems and their problems won't just be in a few characters.
