@NotSpamIpromise @catholicdad420 I don't use only fans but if it's anything like any other site on the internet, 75% of all the accounts are inactive and so when someone says they're "top 3%" the really mean they're "top 12%" and so on. So maybe we want to see the "top 24%"

@denim_afternoon @ijustbluemyself It's true especially when more than half of medical research is actually not held to this standard at all. Only 30% of scientists have ever reproduced someone else's experiment. Only 44% of *medical* studies are reproduced even once, and 10-20% have serious methodological flaws

@GeneralJetsSon @theemrhammer Your example sucks & proves his point Ownership depends on the work of workers, and the money of customers, not the ownership of the owners. Sometimes (rarely), owners are also workers, but this is coincidental or for PR reasons Ownership is not work, period. It generates no $

@denim_afternoon @ijustbluemyself Yes the primary answer is to fund more independent prosocial research and to stop relying on for-profit companies. Fund replication and meta analyses specifically when research is promising and important. Stop publishing based on press-releasability metrics. All this will help.
