@earthysmells My late girlfriend was brushed off at the doctor when she went in for joint pain, told to lose weight. It turned out she had stage four kidney cancer that'd spread to her bones.

@lindseylouwho I have friends from Live Journal who I've known for 17 years. We were pregnant together, we send each other gifts, mutual aid when we need it, nursed each other through divorces and navigating parenting our kids who are now teens. Online friendships are real.

@britneyspears I am glad you finally got a win! You deserve so much better than the way your father has treated you. I am Bipolar/disabled, my ex husband used my Bipolar against me in court to get full custody of the kids. It's something I have to live with every day. Wishing you the best.

@retrograde @transmuteastro I'm living in a hotel spending nearly 100% of my income on rent because we are too low income for anyone to be willing to rent to us. Rent this month $1600 +$100 payment on back rent. I'm freaking out wondering how I'm going to eat this month. Food stamps don't cover everything.

@dreesha_ Dried spices have their place. Pro chefs use both. They have different purposes. Onion and garlic powder, for example, are used in dry rubs, sauces, & dips. You wouldn't want chunks of garlic there.

@vvictorman_uel @zara_fayaz *My old landlord, I should say. There was no emergency service and he turned off his cell at 8pm every night. Now I live in a huge building in downtown Seattle run by a nonprofit affordable housing group, and things are much better.

@vvictorman_uel @zara_fayaz My landlord used to pull shit like this all the time. Like once we had a clogged toilet and had to wait 16 hours for him to finally come unclog it. It was our only toilet and legally we could've paid to fix it and taken the money out of rent.

@Happydog___ In 2017 we adopted this cat, she had been abused in her former homes -was returned to the shelter twice. When we first brought her home she hid in the closet and hissed at us. Now she is the sweetest, most loving cat. We named her Cersei because she's beautiful and spicy.

@cookie_davis @abayagxng I don't know what Muslims think about it, but the ladies at Wrapunzel say anyone can cover their hair for any reason. Modesty is always appreciated. All kinds of women have worn scarves on their heads since the dawn of time, it's not cultural appropriation.

@notallbhas I'm not surprised that a company who makes overpriced yoga clothing that stops at size 12 & runs small has some shitty views. Not surprised at all. As an alternative, PrAna makes plus sizes, (up to 3x) and Torrid makes some yoga clothes as well (up to 6x).

@FLsux @RealEvilkitten3 I tried working & got fired over and over for my Bipolar. And I probably could try it again, if they'd allow cashiers to sit while we worked & paid benefits. I'm no longer able to stand on my feet all day & if I make over a certain amt I lose Medicaid.

@BecauseIMatter We are also having this problem with Oxycodone/Acetaminophen (Percocet). Our pharmacy never has it in stock and there's a delay with ordering it every time. Not as bad as the Adderall shortage, but yeah. It's a nationwide problem.

@HuffleBoy I challenge anyone who thinks she isn't talented to listen to Haunted (the acoustic version). Her vocals are AMAZING on that particular song. She's a gifted singer and songwriter. No she's not normally a ballad Celine Dion type, but I don't like that style of music ANYWAY.

@KupcakeProse Once you've seen the heartbeat via ultrasound, the odds of miscarriage are less than 5% (iirc). And once you're past the first trimester they go down even more. I had 3 pregnancy losses (1 ectopic 2 miscarriages) and I went on to have 3 full term babies. Wishing you sticky dust.

@Femme_Trash @radiantbutch Thank you for this. I know how to eat healthy/low carb. It would require doubling my food budget. I can't afford that. Like, all my food comes from food stamps. I have to supplement with pasta, rice, and potatoes or I'll starve.

@butchanarchy I wish so much that 12-17 year old me had read this. So much. So many men took advantage. And I was ripe for the picking, a pretty girl who'd been abused with low self esteem and little autonomy at home. I'm glad that my own kids never fell into that trap (so far).
