We don’t just have amazing children at our school. A huge thank you to the parents who made the children’s leavers disco so special. Thank you to you all, the children had a blast!
@MonksdownSchool
Children have been amazing so far - settled in well and are now ready for their first evening activity ‘Capture the Flag’ - all excited about their first night away.

Last night 120 children gathered to sleep on the floor in the school hall to raise money/awareness for Petrus homeless charity. These are just a few moments from the evening, don't worry there are plenty more photos to come.

Congratulations to all of our Year 6 Leavers - a wonderful, albeit emotional leavers assembly, now to get ready for the disco to say goodbye to the class of 2023.

@MonksdownSchool
And now it’s time for group 2! We all arrived safely, have enjoyed a great afternoon of activities and have just begun our evening games - everyone is safe, well and extremely excited for the next few days! Stay tuned for more pictures later tonight ...

Well as a child in my class would say - “It’s been a day!” Well 6.3 you have been amazing, your new schools are lucky to have you. Thank you for two years of fun from Mrs Ferrigan Goodbye and Good Luck!
This bunch have certainly made their mark on Monksdown, they have grown and the world had better watch out for these amazing children. As they would say - the original 6.3
Good morning everyone - all ready for day 3! Raft building, fencing, orienteering and much more! Have a good day wherever you are as we know we will here…
@MonksdownSchool
What an amazing group of children, we have been so lucky to spend this quality time with these young people and so proud of them all.
Tonight is a calm one with a film night before our last full day of activities tomorrow.
To all of the year 6 children who came to Redridge thank you for such an amazing week, we as staff are so proud of each and everyone of you, you have all been amazing!
Team Wetherlam started with rock climbing, dabbled in some hiking and finished off becoming expert canoeists - oh, and for those who have followed my previous tweets, it was Miss Grice who fell in, catching a plastic duck. The children were ever so sympathetic...
@MonksdownSchool
A very very busy last morning, packing and getting ready for final activities so no official last morning picture but we did manage to get a quick picture just as some groups were leaving … one morning to go, see you all this afternoon!
@MonksdownSchool
Good morning everyone - lovely bright start to day 4 (hence the squinting eyes in the picture - sorry) all ready for another fantastic day …
@MonksdownSchool
Well what a fantastic last day! So many memories made and there is still more to come. Final night games, another morning of activities before coming home - see you all tomorrow!
Lots of wonderful entertainment, sweets and biscuits provided to try and persuade teachers but the winners of the girls’ room inspection today was room number 23 for a wonderfully organised room and amazing Frozen choreographed performance!
So proud of the Year 6 children who took part in tonight’s
@NorthLivAcademy
Maths Challenge evening. The children worked for two hours on a range of maths challenges, they had lots of fun and showed great resilience with some extremely difficult challenges.
And the winner was …. Connelly’s Cougars!!! Both teams made fantastic rafts, but in the end the willingness to sacrifice our own dryness prevailed and jumping in the water to push our raft over the finish line won it for us!!! Unlucky
@MrCorrigan_56
maybe next time!
Fantastic morning on the lake kayaking and paddle boarding - not many stayed dry (with even staff falling in!) and although it was cold fun was had by all!
@MonksdownSchool
And with that another amazing class has left
@MonksdownSchool

parents, this week, our journey together comes to an end. Working with your children has been a joy. Their infectious curiosity, eagerness to learn, and genuine enthusiasm have made each day rewarding. I am grateful for your trust in me as their teacher Mrs Ferrigan.
The battle of the rafts is on … Dugdale’s Diva’s vs Connelly’s Cougars - which raft will rise to the challenge? Only time will tell
@MrCorrigan_56
you’re going down …
Jacobs ladder at the ready for Group 1 … great effort from everyone, pushing themselves and helping each other out - great activity to start the day.

We are using The Boy at the Back of the Class as the inspiration for our book day activities… we made suitcases and filled them with things we would take if we had to leave home in a hurry. What would you take? Something practical or something sentimental?
Oh, girls, the adventures we have had and the ones we still have to fit in. Another brilliant Walking Club session around the Albert Dock.
@MonksdownSchool
We are on our way home after an amazing week. The children have had so much fun, pushed themselves to their limit, encouraged each other and just been a pleasure to spend time with.
Families we will see you around 2.30pm.
Year 6 were extremely lucky to have a visit from the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, he taught us about our Queen from when she was 10, informed us about her work and spoke about plans for next year’s Jubilee celebrations - it was such an exciting visit!

Team Swirlhow took the voyager canoe out on the lake, hiked up a mountain and then climbed a rock face ... all in a days work when at Coniston.

This week we chose a book from the Marcus Rashford collection - The Breakfast Club Adventures - chapter 1 split the class but on the whole it was a book we decided would be worth a read. We can’t wait for our next First Chapter Friday!

A huge well done to our Year 6 debate team, who did a fantastic job at today's debate competition organised by

you are just the best. As I said today, I am not ready to see you go. A lovely day, Police assembly, demonstration, statue making and ending the day with problem solving. Just what I needed laughs, jokes and hard workers.

At the end of the day we took a few moments to think about all of those who lost their lives and who survived the Holocaust. We are in absolute awe of their bravery, hope and determination to survive. A 2 minute silence

Nothing beats wrapping up warm, grabbing a torch, and having a great big game of manhunt in the dark. What a great first night! Now off to bed, the fun continues tomorrow with another set of exciting activities.
@MonksdownSchool
Our Year 6 Walking Club have had a lovely evening at the 'Liverpool Festival of Light' The children were wonderful and enjoyed laughing, exploring and making memories in the rain.
All three groups have loved their time Ghyll Scrambling! Amazing team work, pushing themselves to achieve and even though their wellies were filled with water, they all had an amazing time.
