Yes, this! There are so many examples of this in North African architecture. We not only have homes w/central courtyards that allow air to circulate but also underground homes. We whitewash the walls & use ceramic tiles (zellij) which would help keep the walls & floors cool.

My blood does not carry the heritage of thousands of years of levantine arab ancestors. Just because we speak a common language does not mean we’re the same people.

Idk who needs to hear this but the Mediterranean isn’t just Europe lmao. It’s also Africa snd the Levant and the various islands in between, and the rich history of Islamic empires spanning the Mediterranean are just as part of Med history as the Romans and Ancient Greeks were.
