@SmPotatoes @GburgMD I am but a humble City Council Member. In the City we have not raised property taxes… but I take your point. No one wants to see their taxes increased.

Maryland is one of only states in the nation that bans the sale of beer and wine in grocery stores – it's time for a change. Lifting this ban puts people first and makes us more competitive. I look forward to working with our legislative partners to pass this overdue change.

👀 Proud to have led and passed legislation in Gaithersburg that enhances consumer protections. Our new law requires landlords to provide prospective tenants with clear information about any fees associated with their lease, helping folks avoid bait-and-switch tactics like the ones described in the WaPo article below. Our legislation was supported by landlords, tenants, residents, and advocacy organizations. We all do better when transactions are clear and transparent. 👇🏼

Honored to start a new tradition on City Council—challenge coins! These are a token of our appreciation, and a way for the Mayor & Council to say thank you to those who make our community better. Councilmember Wu, and I were introduced to this tradition during our time in military service and it’s exciting to bring it to Gaithersburg. Today, at our Veterans Day celebration, Mayor Ashman presented the first-ever challenge coin to our guest speaker. Here’s to many more moments of gratitude like this.
