@mbeisen @anon1324657 Simplify the regulations. Constantly adding/modifying regulations has led to incredible administrative bloat. Even if minor, the frequent changes to the biosketch format alone probably cost millions in aggregate. We got computers now, let's simplify all that crap.

I'd like to add that these aren't bad people and I don't believe this is at all their fault. They are all doing their job as expected by their managers and many do them extremely well. I would bet some don't even know where their salary comes from, and it isn't really their concern. These are institutional problems. And so is the wasteful spending of IDC.

Chiming in here to say you are both right. There are lots of admins that need to get paid by IDC, but often they treat researchers as a burden, liability, distraction, so it's easy to perceive and feel what Rodeo says. You bring in the money that pays them, but they treat you like 'the problem" if they don't just ignore your existence altogether.
